The Maniac of DxD (Highschool dxd insert/ semi-crack): Chapter 29

Within a realm separated, yet connected, to Earth, similar to the homeland of many other factions across the world, a ground of beings watched the screen in front of them, watching the recordings from a previous livestream.

Particularly, they were watching the humiliation of the Angelic faction as Maniac Ren broke into their Vaults and stole anything that was not nailed down or literally too divine and heavy for him to take.

“Hahaha! It never bores me to see the biggest Klepto in the universe get his shit stolen like this!!”

The being that took on the form of a human man with lavender eyes and brown hair continued laughing at the screen, taking joy in watching the treasury that the God of the Bible had accumulated through countless eons be pilfered so easily after his death, his precious children being unable to protect any of his treasures.

Meanwhile, his companion did not take any joy in the video. He only held pure disinterest as his empty eye sockets watched on.

“You and your people have been indulging too much in your entertainment, getting entangled with the humans so much. Do you not fear facing the same fate as us and the rest of the Pantheons? Indra?”

Indra, the King of Gods of the Hindu Pantheon, the Lord of Swarga, the god of war, storms, and rainfall, gave his companion an amused gaze.

“You seem to forget something critical, Hades. Unlike your pantheon and the others across the world, we are still a major religion, with millions of followers praying to us in one form or another.”

He got up from his throne and walked down the stairs as his companion, the God of the Dead and ruler of the Underworld from the Greek Pantheon, walked beside him.

“Besides, unlike the others, we were not foolish enough to completely tie our essence to the Faith of the humans back then for the sake of gaining more power and domains.”

Indra grinned at Hades as his Divinity pulsed, creating a crushing pressure strong enough to destroy continents for a split second.

“This means that, unlike with Olympus, Takamagahara, the Egyptians, the Anunnaki, and many others, we will not lose an ounce of our true power even if we lose the faith of the humans.”

Hades was unaffected by the display of the arrogant god and simply replied to his words.

“And yet, you still tie your behavior and appearance to the Humans, integrating a fraction of your divinity with their continued existence in hopes of avoiding the End when the time comes.”

“Of course. Who wants to fade from existence if they can help it? Besides, which appearance do you prefer? This one? Or this One?

Indra’s form suddenly shifted, shedding the human guise that he and the rest of his pantheon usually wore when they appeared in public.

This time, Hades could not help but feel trepidation as he too shed his physical form to better shield himself from the sheer divinity emanating from the King of gods

What was once a regular human wearing a Hawaiian shirt and regular pants was now a being of pure energy and domains.

A body made of the Authority as the King of Gods, creating a humanoid being of pure energy, wearing jewelry and a crown that were also made of energy but consisted of concepts, such as Storms, Rainfall, War, and the flow of rivers, symbolizing his power in metaphysical form.

A formless entity that was made of concepts and authority. The true form of a god. One that was sadly lost to many a god in the world after they had entangled their true essence, their very existence, to the energy of Faith derived from mortal creatures, a double-edged sword that had stolen the true power and origins of many a god in the world.

On the other hand, Hades, being one of the few gods who had the foresight not to tie his essence with Human Faith, also took on his true form.

Within the illuminated realm of Swarga, darkness swelled as the Skeletal form of Hades was replaced by that of a humanoid being made of energy and concepts, similar to Indra. His form was made of pure darkness, and he wore a Greek Parka made of divine energy and concepts, flowing like the rivers of the Underworld.

His symbols of power, the Helm of Darkness and the Bident, were missing, just like Indra was missing his Vajra, showing that neither of them was serious in this confrontation of concepts and power.

And yet, unlike Indra, whose form radiated power and light, enough to destroy entire worlds should he choose to, Hades’s power was significantly lower, and his shadowy presence looked as if it was on the verge of fading.

Of course, being who he was, Indra was not fooled by the act put on by his acquaintance and retracted his true power, taking on his human form again, prompting Hades to go back to his skeletal form.

With a snort, Indra continued walking through Swarga with Hades.

“…..You have a point, Indra. I do prefer you in this form instead of your original one.”

“Don’t play that card with me, Hades. I know very well that you like to play low-key and would not reveal your true power. But don’t forget that I can easily see through your actions.”

Indra gave an interested stare towards the God of the Dead.

“You have succeeded in your experiments, haven’t you? I can sense that your domain has strengthened and your essence has grown stronger. Not by much, but the improvement is there.”

If Hades had taken on a human form, he would have given a wry smile at Indra’s word, exasperated with how easily the King of Swarga saw through his thorough preparations.

This is why he hated dealing with the Hindu pantheon and the Christian God when he was alive.

These people were on such a high level of power that none of his plans usually worked with them.

With no other choice, Hades simply admitted to Indra’s words.

“I managed to breach through the Dimensional Gap and connect with the other side. The connection did not last for long, merely a fraction of a second, but the gains justify the resources spent on the experiment.”

“Is that so? Then, are you and your entourage going to continue the experiments again?”

“Yes. I am trying to see if there are others who share the same goal as I. That is why I am here today.”

Indra stopped walking and immediately turned towards Hades with a serious stare.

“You want me to join you in experimenting with the Dimensional Gap to fight the supposed threats to Earth and the Biblical factions while also finding a solution to the Creation Paradox and Entropy?”

“Yes. As one of the beings known as the Top ten strongest beings in the world, you definitely qualify. I would have invited the Trinity of your faction as well, but they are busy watching over their respective domains and keeping a firm hold on India’s supernatural scene, so I came to you.”

Indra gave him a flat look.

“You are basically calling me lazy, right? Because I don’t have much to do these days?”

“Am I wrong?”

“…..No. You are not wrong.”

With a sigh, the King of the Hindu Pantheon continued walking.

“The answer is no, Hades. I am not interested in messing with the Dimensional Gap. Especially after what happened last time.”

“The anomaly was just that, an anomaly. Not the norm. I have better security measures in place this time.”

“Still, one anomaly is one too many, Hades.”

Indra disappeared into the ether as his last words rang out in the ears of the Skeletal God.

“The world cannot handle another Maniac, especially when the current one has not even reached his full potential and is already proving to be a threat to everyone in the supernatural world.”

Hades was left standing by himself in the realm of Swarga, making him sigh in defeat before he used his divinity to return to his realm, knowing that there was no convincing Indra anymore.

Hopefully, the other gods and beings on his list would be more willing to listen to his idea.
