2024-08-25 16:48:54 +0000 UTCAh okay, I'll wait and see until you reveal how the magic system works. Cause half the time Warhammer magic makes no sense to me.
Sukhraj Singh
2024-08-19 21:59:09 +0000 UTCYes - Using warhammer as inspiration but really, it's only a few concepts...the warhammer magic stuff is really crazily vague and basically just 'plot'. Magic does not come from the Warp...more like its a lot more...pronounced there. Basically, you can consider it like ying and yang, or, more aptly, chaos and order whereby you can't have one without a context of the other.

2024-08-19 20:06:15 +0000 UTCI have a qquestion that comes from the previous chapter if you don't mind. As I understand it, you are using Warhammer 40K as inspiration for the magic in this story. But one thing I have yet to understand, is does magic come from the Warp or is it something that a person is born with like their souls and the warp is just something they manipulate with their magic ability?

2024-08-15 14:17:55 +0000 UTCThat progression seems like a lifetime ago! Haha. Aegon won't turn away from this, especially if you consider it from a purely practical pov. He can get his settlement with the Iron Throne and finish up the last other business he has before he can really return to Elamaerys.
Mosef
2024-08-15 05:28:39 +0000 UTCNot particularly no. Although I think this time period has primitive welding anyway. Arc welding etc will take a very long time
Mosef
2024-08-15 05:23:46 +0000 UTCReally love how Viserys is trying everything he can to win Aegon back, I really hope he succeeds and they mend their relationship; I still remember when they when on their Royal Progress and how close they became, especially when Aemma was alive and there with them, she seemed to understand him really well. Overall, a really good chapter!

2024-08-14 22:30:47 +0000 UTCAegon or his herudites are trying to invent welding? Or is it still too early?

2024-08-13 17:51:17 +0000 UTCThere is literally not one single generation of House Targaryen after this that experienced a life time of peace.
Jordan
2024-08-13 01:04:27 +0000 UTCI think Aegon will be up front with his "visions" because at this point Viserys has already sowed the seeds for war. There is literally nothing Viserys can do to prevent a war after he dies. I like to picture that every time he compromised, every time he put peace before the good of the realm ( those are not the same thing) he was causing the interest to go up on some blood debt to be paid the moment of his death. He had peace in his life time at the cost of every other future generation of House Targaryen.

2024-08-13 01:02:49 +0000 UTCIn all honesty, I don't think Viserys would have been able to stop Aegon from leaving with his people. With his forknowledge of what was to come Aegon was not going to allow him children to be influenced or used as pawns by others. Honestly, the thing happending in the temple of Volantis, makes me want to utterly and completely destroy the Red Faith. I wish we had more knowledge of how the Red Faith began and who its founders were, but I think it started out good but got twisted as the years passed on.

2024-08-12 16:25:08 +0000 UTCGreat points. Yes, Aegon's motivations are and will be alien when he does explain a little of it (he will have to). Re oaths and traditions, again great point. It's basically what cause this tension after all. Expectations from Aegon not conforming to reality.
Mosef
2024-08-12 15:40:15 +0000 UTCThe temple of Volantis stuff is proper messed up imo. Aegon has unleashed something he probably shouldn't have.
Mosef
2024-08-12 15:38:01 +0000 UTCThe meeting back in KL will be a difficult one to write. There's sooo many conflict points. Its crazy
Mosef
2024-08-12 15:37:31 +0000 UTCGreat to see your comment! Yes, Viserys really did consider it but only for a moment. He is conflict averse and will do what needs to be done without having to break his peace. He is tbh in a difficult position. Had Aegon been Viserys, he'd probably not let Aegon go all those years ago. Outshining isn't the biggest problem (it is a problem) but it is the manner he is doing it
Mosef
2024-08-12 15:36:45 +0000 UTCWar, it ain't fun. Yeah, it's dragging a lot on the men. It'll be soon to call it quits and count the coins for everyone. Re Viserys....a monarch who everyone answers to is suddenly surprised that someone dares say 'no...f off'.

2024-08-12 15:34:11 +0000 UTCThat was chilling to hear that even someone of Trytas calibre had grown weary of killing, it speak volumes of the magnitude of violence that has been going on. It was also exhilarating to see the matter blow up in Viserys face what did he expect would happen?

2024-08-12 08:07:50 +0000 UTCGood chapter as always. The situuation with Viserys was tense and had a lot of tension. For a moment I really thought that Viserys would decide to send Daemon, Rhaenys and Leanor to being Aegon to King's Landing by force. A situaation which would not have ended well as I feel Mīsaragorn has grown far more powerful and dangerous than all the other dragons given his deep connection to Aegon. Luckily cooler heads prevailed and Lyonel and Viserys have opted for the route of reconciliation despite the fact that they are going to have to give Aegon everything that he wants. Which to be fair is not at all outrageous, given that it was Aegon and his people that found Elamaerys using Aegon's money and resources, by all rights, Viserys has no claim to any of Aegon's achievements. But I'm guessing its the fact that Aegon is much more impressive that Viserys that is the issue given that he outshines both his brothers as far as everyone else is concerned. I really am looking forward to when Aegon finally goes to King's Landing to meet with Viserys, the conversation that they will have will no doubt be thick with tension, hopefully Viserys and Aegon will reconcile with each other, even if it mean Viserys has to recognise Elamaerys as a separate nation under the rule of Aegon's bloodline. The situation in Lys is also interesting, it looks like Johanna Swann has managed to set up and effective goverment and are hoping that Aegon will deal with Volantis for them but I'm not sure is Aegon will go for it. Once he has extracted his pound of flesh from Myr, I think he will most likely call it a day and make for home. After all, it looks like even Trytas has grown tired of all the fighting and killing and looks forward to heading to Elamaerys and settling down and starting a family. Though I am guessing that Aegon will have to make a short detour to King's Landing first before heading home. I look forward to seeing Aegon's meeting with Rhaenys in the next chapter, given that Viserys has decided to send her to give his message to Aegon and ask him to visit King's Landing. I have to admit I am very curious as to what is going on in Volantis at the Temple of Light, from what I am understanding at least the Red Priest are trying to breed the three women, Lessela met using one of Saera Targaryen's sons whom I assume is the man being hung and drained in the dungeon, in order to use them as sacrifices to see visions of the future. It also looks like Saera Targaryen has been killed due to her relation to Aegon, despite having no contact with him. To be honest, I feel no pity for Saera Targaryen, from all I have managed to gather she was an entitled spoiled brat who was the apple of Jaehaery's eye until she went to far and refused to see the consequences of her action. Looking forward to the next chapter.

2024-08-12 03:37:07 +0000 UTCThis was a great chapter, also it's kind of interesting watching everyone be confused by Aegons motives due to a complete lack of a frame of reference. Aegon is relying on a entire worlds theories and examples of how to rule. Ones that no one else has. I also think it was Strongs westerosi mindset showing with his advice one thing that is pointed out again and again especially with the dance is how bogged down westeros is with traditions , including abiding to oaths and the idea of the absolute authority of your noble betters(kings, Lord Paramounts) over they're lessers. I mean there is a reason aerys had to burn A LOT of people alive and be a overall shit stain before a rebellion took place.

2024-08-12 01:37:28 +0000 UTCWhy do I get the feeling that when Rhaenys goes to meet Aegon, it will be going well only for Daemon to show up and screw everything up? I was a bit surprised Saera died as I thought Volantis might want to use her to try and pacify Aegon, but not so much in hindsight. They probably saw her as threat to side with Aegon, what with her being a Targ and all.

2024-08-12 01:35:56 +0000 UTCOh crap they killed Saera? I guess we won’t being getting a Saera and Aegon meeting. If Rhaenys and Aegon that means Meleys and Misaragon can meet mother and son! I wonder if seeing Misaragon so big will startle Rhaenys at his growth spurt. I hope the meeting between Rhaenys and Aegon is cool. I feel like they are fond of each other in the familia sense. Oh I’m curious about the spell the red priest are working on and if it will affect Aegon. Thank you for the amazing update!! 😎😁

2024-08-11 22:46:37 +0000 UTCThanks for the chap. Can’t wait for the next as I’m curious how the meeting between Aegon and Rhaenys will be like. Loved Viserys reaction to the letter and excited to see how Daemon reacts to him basically bending for Aegon. Keep up the great work.
