Kicking off this first chapter with part one of our recent photo shoot, I wanted to offer a theme that could be incredibly diverse in direction or interpretation, but have a potential for reflecting the seasonal charm (northern hemisphere). And yes, I did get into the icy, wild river for a good thirty minutes!
This could be a "washer woman", from various parts of the world, actually, or it could be a religious moment with some of the reference where the sunlight came out nice and strong, or it could be a spooky Autumn warning-story about ghouls or water-spirits that haunt the dark corners of the edge of the woods... Or it could serve as figure-in-motion or garment/fabric practice!
Render as you see fit, just remember to cite the help! Whatever study or work you create from the reference, always mention the model (Mairin-Taj Caya) and tag me (IG: @Caya_Art, Patreon: Mairin-Taj Caya) to credit considerately and share the opportunity for others. Help me grow this Patreon!
I've attached the files below, for easy use, and I will be going back to our September chapters and attaching the corresponding files there as well. It was an oversight on my part not to have done so, so thank you for bearing with me.
Please enjoy and leave a comment if you worked with any of these, I'd love to know.
Coming up in a new post, I'm sharing one of my own approaches for how I would create an illustration study using one of my own photos as reference. I want to show how figure reference is a guide for the work, not a restriction of the work, and that with proper understanding of the elements of lighting, perspective, anatomy, and mood, we can tailor and add on from the reference as a foundation to a piece. Until then!
Chapter Two for October coming next week.
