Sneak Peeks! Updates! Goodies!

Hello, all! How are you? Good I hope!

ITEM 1: State of the Velvet/State of the Schedule

How am I, you ask? Being perfectly frank and messy af, my brain is still crying. I don't know what to do about it. I can't seem to get ahead, and -- as a lapsed perfectionist -- I kinda want to just go hide in a blanket fort for a year.

Instead, I am admitting temporary defeat! Or...kinda admitting defeat? I'm not giving up, but I am giving myself purposeful slack. Because knowing your limits is important, accepting failure is part of growth, and I'm not going to get back on track if I keep beating myself up for not hitting deadlines and expectations I set for myself, she grits out through clenched teeth because she's working really hard on this in therapy.

Here's the plan as it stands right now:

• 8/7: Previous exclusive audio released on YouTube

• 8/15: Bodyguard #4, early access for patrons before then

• 8/22: Previous exclusive audio released on YouTube

• 8/29: Viking full series, early access for patrons before then

• August TBD: All extra energy spent on remaining late exclusives

I want to treat this as a proper reset. I know I need to get back on a YouTube schedule consistently, because my ADHD/OCD brain registers every missed deadline as unassailable proof that there is no point trying to do anything ever again because clearly I just suck.

Intellectually, I know this isn't true. I'm just setting goals that are impossible to achieve right now for reasons outside my control, and I need to adjust my expectations. But the ol' brainworms don't listen to logic, so I have to meet them where they are and beat them to a pulp with a (metaphorical) frying pan. Therefore, the plan as laid out above.

Will it work? Time will tell!

ITEM 2: Upcoming Commissioned Scripts!

As alluded to previously, I've been putting your patron dollars to work the past several months on lots and lots and LOTS of commissions! See? I promised not to spend it all on hookers and blow! (I can't say for sure what the writers will be spending it on though...)

I've bribed some of my favorite scriptwriters to work on original scripts based on my silly ideas and also patron requests that have been gathering dust for awhile. It's time to finally reveal some of them!

  • Listener has been captured and sentenced to fight for an audience's amusement. A monster girl is Listener's ally...for now.

  • A gorgon finds an injured human listener and gradually nurses them back to health.

• FULL SERIES: Seven Minutes...IN HELL!

  • No spoilers, but I bet you can guess!

• FULL SERIES: The Lioness in Winter

  • After defeating her keeper, Listener finds a mysterious, isolated captive in a tower...

There are several other ideas/requests that have been assigned to writers, and a few continuations I'm still negotiating for, but these are the scripts that are either currently in the works or already delivered. If things keep chugging along like this, and I can continue to afford to pay folks a decent amount, I might? eventually?? have enough original content for most of next year???

I've actually made a pretty spreadsheet with more detailed script synopses -- at least for my own goofy concepts. Once the scripts are in, I might share them properly if anyone is interested in seeing them! ^^

ITEM 3: Art Commissions!

Several finished pieces have made their way to me! I'm adding artist credits/small edits to some/etc. before posting them. But I'll be queuing them up for regular Patron releases soon! So many pretty things!

Speaking of which, here's a small res peek at one of the new video intro screens: Summer Velvet.

The intro screens will have limited animation -- either overlays or light puppeting; I haven't decided yet. But ooh, visible upgrades!
