2021-01-04 23:06:15 +0000 UTCDhsjajja I’m crying it’s so accurate, also King Shark’s already finished the appetizer plate of tuna rolls and is about to start on the meal alone when John swoops in wearing his usual only-washed-I-think-2-weeks-ago coat and disheveled hair and blood on his cheek but his eyes are bright upon seeing Shark still at the restaurant 😭😭

John comes off as someone world-weary and just barely hanging on and probably does the whole angry vibe thing as a way to keep himself safe (I think this was covered a lot in the comics, he pretty much was a drunkard and self-destructive at that). Also it’s funny bc I can totally see King Shark being the more “relationshipy” in their relationship — like he’s the one who sets the dates and remembers the anniversaries and tsks at Constantine for missing to eat 😩😭

I generally think it's mostly because the DCAU shows and movies cater mostly to casual fans who are generally unaware of the comic history and lore of the characters, especially like Constantine who has slept with demons and Satan before. I honestly thought the whole King Shark thing would have become a big issue knowing how people on social media are nowadays, so I guess the playing-safe-by-treating-it-as-a-joke was a way to understate instead for humor? But yes, I am curious as to how their relationship worked. I personally don't think they were a lovey-dovey couple though, or maybe that's just me thinking Constantine is a deadbeat S.O. lol

His relationship with King Shark was treated by some as a joke but I’m actually interested in the dynamics like who did the cooking or was it mostly ordering out? What does their netflix que look like? Did they share an account? What side of the bed do they sleep on!?
