Tricksters and Chunnis

Everyone else seemed to be pretty tired, we’d lost track of time and everyone was completely full of food. I’d held off on eating so much, but I’d been glad to supply it for everyone else. Honestly I was surprised they could eat so much . . . 

There was also a tension that slowly dissolved over time, a sort of understanding being met between the 6 as they slowly devolved into a food coma. Kiwi and Kaoruko had come to an agreement after Kiwi realized she wasn’t a love rival for Utena. 

I guess having me in the way made her realize I was the true threat.

However Kauruko was seemingly the only other person who was still mentally awake at this point. She approached me with a casual smile, her hand on hip, and her vibe was strangely far more casual than when she arrived at the tea shop.

If having her at the tea shop gave the vibe of her getting off work, this was her fully relaxed.

Her outfit was casual as well, and she gave me a soft look as she rolled the lollipop in her mouth. Honestly I feel like the only reason she didn’t eat an insane amount of food as well was because her mouth was occupied with either the candy or talking to someone. 

“So, Utena is your girlfriend then?” Her words were slightly flippant, but I saw a faint desire in her eyes. Could it be that she was lusting after Utena!? Why was everyone trying to steal my girlfriend!?

“Yeah, we’ve been dating for just over a week now.” My voice was measured, and she gave a cheshire smile. Her response however surprised me greatly.

“Looks like I missed my window then, but if you’re ever single give me a call.”

I just kind of stood there dumbfounded for a moment before my eyes narrowed.

“I love Utena.” She’d never been this forward before, and it was a little bit bothersome. She held her hands in defeat and gave a sad sigh.

“My bad, my bad. I didn’t mean it like that at all. You’re a good guy, but you’ve got to see the signs . . . right?”

The what?

“I’m sorry?” My eyes turned over to the passed out Utena and then they flicked over to the shopkeep who just grunted under my gaze. The shop closed at around eleven, and it was 9:30 now. So we had plenty of time.

“She’s obviously gay.” Her tone was flippant. As though speaking about the weather.

It was like an arrow pierced my heart in an instant. However it was less of a sad pain, and more of an angry pain. I was already holding her by the collar and pulling her into the air as I looked dead into her eyes. My eyes burned from how wide I held them. She seemed surprised by my strength, but luckily I still managed to hold back in order to avoid crushing her.

“I don’t know what your game is here, but I can assure you that we love each other deeply. She’s mine . . . and I hers.” I grit my teeth and set her down before crossing my arms.

“I think it's time we head back.” I was about to continue speaking before she gave me a playful elbow.

“Awww, you guys are so cute together! Then you said ‘we love each other deeply’ with such a gravely tone! Aaaaaaand send!” SHE WAS RECORDING THAT?

WHAT? In the face of my dumbfounded expression she just gave me a wink.

“What? Can’t a girl help out a strong and broody handsome guy in need of some assistance?” She let out a faint sigh, but she didn’t stop. “It’s pretty obvious that Kiwi-san is crushing on your Girlfriend.” She wiggled her eyebrows a bit at that causing me to pause.

I just realized something strange. If this world has a bit of inversion on the gender standard, then wouldn’t the dark, broody, possessive, and apparently handsome guy actually be a Goth Girl? 

AM I A SEXY GOTH GIRL!?

IS VEIL MY GOTH PERSONA?

SINCE I WAS TALL AND GENERALLY NICE WAS I A GOTH MOMMY?

I think I’m going to crash out.

“You’ve been quite passive however about Kiwi . . . so you’ll need to stake your claim. I sent the video to both of them . . . consider this my favor for being a jerk just then.” I grunted noncommittally, but I was partially thankful for her act.

I heard both of their phones make a ding sound, yet neither awoke from the food coma they were in. Kiwi stirred a bit, but Utena was fully gone!

Kaoruko is scary. I was right about her being smart though. That’s some insane mastermind stuff. I really hope she’s not part of Tres Magia, fighting her going all out would certainly be scary.

“I’m going to get my girls home now, good luck with yours~” With that she softly woke her friends who bid there goodbyes and they made their way away.

I still stood there in shock, but then I felt a small tug on my sleeve. Turning down to the little girl who had just woken herself up as well, my eyes softly settled on Korisu. She seemed shy, but she held on nonetheless.

“Can you walk me home?” Her voice was nearly a whisper, but I smiled at the girl and held her hand which caused her to brightly smile.

“Of course, let’s take the others home as well.”

Then I heard a phone ring.

It seemed to come from Kiwi’s pocket who let out a sigh as she flopped out of her chair. She stared at the number for a moment before grumbling and giving Utena a longing look and then running outside.

“See you later-” She didn’t even respond. She really was a hater! Or maybe she was just in a rush. Though that did remind me, didn’t these three have portals? Why would I even need to walk Korisu home?

“Are you sure you need me to walk you home?” 

Her hand clutched tightly on mine as she gave a stalwart nod. Her hand is kind of sweaty actually . . . ugh, whatever. She probably just feels unsafe. Which is wild considering she’s a villain!

I’ll need to take Utena home as well though. I softly shook her, but she didn’t wake up. Then I shook her again and she just gave a small laugh and muttered something about magical girls and demon kings before passing out again.

I think her brain is fried with all the breaded fish she ate. Yet she’s still quite cute! I then let out a sigh and went to retract my hand from Korisu but she looked like she was about to cry so I just gave her a faint smile and leaned down before hefting Utena over my shoulder.

“Alright then, let’s get her home. Just a me and you adventure tonight Korisu.” I started to move slowly to make sure she didn’t fall behind, her eyes were wide as she stared up at me. She let out a soft gulp, and I had to pull her up to avoid making her fall causing her to blush.

Her face turning red from the embarrassment, I decided to just brush it off with a smile. 

“Don’t worry, I’ll catch you again if need be.”

She didn’t say a word, instead just staring at the ‘enrapturing ground’ while I passed off Utena to her thankful mother.

“Thank you for bringing her home Aki, I tried to call her earlier but she didn’t pick up.”

“Sorry, she kind of ate herself into a food coma and you know I don’t really know how to use phones that well.”

“It seems you have a little friend with you today as well, are you walking her home as well?” Korisu seemed to squeeze into me under the older woman’s gaze causing me to chuckle.

“She insisted I did so . . . though I’m not actually not sure where she lives.” 

Hiiragi-san gave a thoughtful hum.

“After I put Utena to bed I can drive you-”

“NO!” 

I stared down at Korisu with widened eyes and looked with concern though she didn’t even look at me and instead focused her fiery gaze on Hiiragi-san.

“I-I’d prefer if it was just the two of us, I can show you where to go.”

“W-well alright then you two, Aki make sure to keep her safe.” She was dumbfounded as was I . . . and she slowly closed the door, giving me a window to say anything if need be, but she was clearly tired so I let her go with my girlfriend in tow.

“So, what's the way then?” The girl quickly pulled us away from the building and didn’t speak much, as though she were holding back her words with barely restrained desire. I paused for a moment, yet she dragged me aside much to annoyance.

My low Constitution already made this much running around difficult, couldn’t you at least not take me in random directions for seemingly no purpose?

I leaned against a wall as she ran ahead, a slightly annoyed look in my eyes as I prepared to release a tired sigh.

Morino Korisu POV

Veil-Sama knew someone was watching us. Otherwise he had no reason to act in such a way. His genius was far too divine for me to comprehend. Truly I had much to learn. Yet, he leaned against a wall and gave me a look I couldn’t understand, yet I knew what it meant in an instant.

We were alone. Away from all of our foes! Just Crimson Abyss-Sama and his only confidant.

So I kneeled, my head bowed in reverence as I stared at the asphalt below. I dare not meet his gaze, for I knew I might just die of joy within this sacred meeting!

“The Lady of Dark Flame greets Veil-Sama.”

Akihiko Inoue POV

What?

WHAT?

WHAT THE FUCK?

SHE KNOWS! SHE KNOWS! HOLY SHIT SHE KNOWS!

I’m cooked. This is it!

Wait . . . did she call me master? 

AN: Sama is the equivalent of master/someone of great reverence in Japanese

I . . . wait. This is totally that girl I saved way back when, isn’t it? Damn it. At least I vaguely remember what I said to her back then.

“You’ve come at a good time. The Black Sea is beginning to boil over. You’ve done well.”

Morino Korisu POV

Yes! Praise me more! Yet he spoke true, the Black Sea encroached.

“Yes Veil-Sama, what do you require of me?”

He paused for a moment, then spoke casually.

“Slow down the operations of Enormeeta, and do not reveal your full capabilities unless absolutely necessary. We are running out of time, and while I’d prefer to tackle this darkness alone, that changed when I met you.”

YES! I was the one who inspired Veil-Sama to recruit others! Yet I couldn’t help but feel slightly jealous at that fact. Of course his words had a double meaning! He met me before his relationship with Magia Baiser, of that I am certain, which means that he only pretends to love her, and must secretly love me instead!

That’s the only logical conclusion!

“Of course Veil-Sama, I have already been preparing. Simply say the word and I shall betray Enormeeta in a heartbeat. They are nothing to me, as I’m sure you know! I’ll even kill Magia Baiser if you want me too!” Betraying Enormeeta is perfect! If Magia Baiser is dealt with then Veil-Sama will no longer be FORCED to date her! He can be with me instead!

He paused, and the silence hung for a moment as he paced past me.

“You do not see through the twisting darkness, you are blinded by your own flames. Take a moment Dark Flame Bearer.” I steadied my breath, and forced myself to calm. Veil-Sama was about to say something important.

I looked up to him on instinct, and his eyes were cold, calculating, strong, and his gaze made my entire body become warm in an instant. Then he whispered in my ear.

“Do not harm Magia Baiser. She is vital to our stratagems against the Black Sea.” 

Ah. I was being foolish. Of course Veil-Sama, ever the dark hero, knew he would have to sacrifice himself for the sake of the mission. The Black Sea broke from my eyes iin my moment of weakness. He was so restricted by his goals of saving the world . . . of saving me.

Forgive me Veil-Sama, but someday I shall melt through the dark heart of yours!

You shall experience my true love!

Love far greater than that Magia Baiser!

He wiped away the wetness, and softly caressed me. He truly was amazing! He was the only one worthy of me!

“The Demon Queen and her six hundred and sixty six vassals reside within her. She is their power and desire given form. I understand your . . . qualms with her position, yet it is a necessary evil.” He took a breath as my eyes widened. He knew I loved him? Ah, of course he knew. He was Veil-Sama.

“I have my own issues with the situation, but with our backs against the wall we must be willing to make sacrifices for the sake of this world and countless others.”

He knew, and yet he could not act upon his feelings for me! Veil-Sama . . . forgive me. I have been a bad servant. If only I could be better, and I’m certain I could if he allowed me.

I need to become stronger.

I need to help bear the burden Veil-Sama holds.

“Yes Veil-Sama, your wisdom is unparalleled. I shall ensure that Enormeeta is strengthened for the coming threats so that we may deal with them as soon as possible.”

The faster we deal with the Black Sea and the many other existing threats, the faster Veil-Sama can dump that homewrecker and be with me instead!

AN: Back with another one, this time we get a bit more insight into the personality of Kauruko as she reveals a little bit about herself, though she masks quite well. She would totally like to have him as a boyfriend, though she decided that she’d help him out instead with his Kiwi problem. 

She really is a good person . . . even if her methods are kind of crazy.

Korisu also gets her own little delusional chunni moments in this chapter. The reveal between Veil-Sama and Scarlett Alice truly shall be vital to their plans to save everyone!
