{ space tier+ } general update on future projects/videos 12.21.23

happy holidays, everyone! it's been a good while since i last updated this page, but i hope you all have been well.

i've mostly been taking the last month of this year off after the rush that was working on the Staggering Winds video, however, there's been a lot on my mind, and stuff that i do want to update y'all on going into 2024!

i think the thing i'd like to start with is going over my current plan on future videos for the channel. a little over a week after the Staggering Winds video, i made another vid announcing my 10k special event, that being an AMA in which people could ask me Literally Anything about me, but, with an "in-character" twist, let's call it! i won't say too much about that right now, but i imagine once the video is actually done especially, it'll become more clear.

and, that's what i've been busy with for the past week or so. i've spent several days/nights pretty much blazing through the literal hundreds of submissions i got in this 10-11 day period, and after a whopping 189 written responses, i can now say the writing phase of this AMA is done! however, while i originally intended to get this out by/before christmas, the sheer amount of input i got was so massive that i'm going to be kind to myself on this and just push the recording/editing for it to 2024 because i'd really like to end my year by doing something that isn't youtube-related, or work-related in general really. that said though, i will be uploading the AMA script/responses on here in a separate post for star tiers and above, if any of y'all would like to give it a read! some of you might end up seeing your answers early as a result of this if you submitted a question, but you know what, you're giving me money so i think that's only fair.

the only *other* thing i plan to do before i officially call it a wrap for this year, is to finish writing the script for another video of mine i'd like to do, that being a 2023 year in review / 2024 update video! every year since like 2016, i've done one of these update/year in review vids where i pretty much go over what i accomplished, how well i held up to the goals i wanted to achieve in the year, how i've been doing mentally in general and what i've learned personally and creatively, and what my plans and goals are for the forthcoming one. and this year is absolutely no different given how 2023 has gone. i had the intro bit of it done more or less, before the AMA writing had me swept up for a good while, but now that i have my feelings about 2023 pretty much settled in writing, i imagine writing my plans for the next year should go by rather quickly. i'd like to hope that this update video won't take too much effort on my part to make since it's not a "major" tier one, but i kind of tend to do literally whatever i want for those, and also i have a tradition with update videos that i'd like to uphold which may warrant a bit more work beyond the video itself, so how long it'll take to make that is a big "i don't know, but i doubt it will take as long as a normal video will". although, it'll have more in-depth info about not only The Next Big Video but general plans for the mollystars channel that i have for 2024, both videos and otherwise.

and, speaking of, there is the next proper, Big mollystars video that i need to finally get around to, that being DEVICE THEORY Part 3. i had been so swept up between the Staggering Winds video, 10k special stuff, and a lot of other smaller things like updating the neocities page, and general october/halloween stuff over the past months that the most i've really gotten done in that regard has just been letting my thoughts on it ruminate for a hot minute. unlike Parts 1 and 2 where the approach to them was a lot more objective and just going through a lot of observations i noted, Part 3 is where it all has to come together, and so i've needed a lot of time to step away from TDT and really think about everything more carefully and structure it in a way that feels like it will make sense and hit as hard as i want it to. that said, i do have a spreadsheet that i made for TDT3 and the different sections it'll have that i'll be sending to star tiers and above as well, along with the AMA answers script! but, once i have at least the script for the update video done, i think it only makes sense that in january of 2024 i finally actually finalize the script for TDT3, and perhaps even get the audio for it done if i'm quick enough.

so, that's the general gist of my plan for the next month or two: write the update video script, record both that and the AMA video, make the AMA vid, then make the update video, and along the last leg of that i hope to finally start proper, uninterrupted production on TDT3. i can't say when it will be done of course, but since i have a good enough outline now of how i want to structure it, i can see it taking a few weeks to do both the script and audio for it if i'm using the Staggering Winds vid's creation process as some frame of reference. 

but other than that, there is of course, non-video stuff i plan to finally get around to before the year's over, just for the fun of it, and because it has been a hot minute since i've done much worth posting to comet tier and above. it kind of feels like youtube has been the main thing i've focused on since like october and i think i need to try and really not let that continue to be the case for much longer because i am Really starting to miss working on personal projects and having stuff to show of that sort. i think the way i'm going to fit it in is by trying to kind of bounce between working on TDT3 and non-video stuff for a bit until i get to the editing phase of Part 3, in which by that point, that will be just one long rush to finally get to the end of this godforsaken series. 

so, in short, what you should expect to see coming out from the channel and from me in general, in order of release should be:

AMA Responses > 2023: year in review / 2024: update > DELTARUNE and the Fourth Wall [Part 3: THE DEVICE THEORY].

after that? well, for youtube at least, that's gonna be future me's problem. and of course, by the time i'm working on Part 3, i hope to finally make some progress on a specific personal project of mine, and post on the higher tiers as i get more stuff done for that. many things have been on my mind while working on the stuff i did put out in the last few months, and i cannot be excited enough to finally act on those things.

so, that's where i've been at with videos. there will be more, and i plan to start 2024 off with a few more laid back ones before finally getting Part 3 and everything surrounding it out the door. it's about time i do some more thorough planning for how that one's gonna go. but, as we are nearing the end of 2023, i do want to say of course, thank you for supporting me in general, and especially through something like patreon.

for a first "year" of actually doing this, or at least my first year of having it take off, while i'm sure there's things about it that i want to do better on, and that balance of video vs non-video stuff is still something i'm trying to figure out, i think i've been holding up pretty damn well so far. 3 proper high-effort videos, hitting a significant milestone, being able to stream in between each proper vid, starting real work on a more personal project, and making good progress towards already preparing not just the next big video, but thinking of several ideas i can do once TDT is done, is a pretty good way of ending this year off imo, and i wouldn't have been able to feel as comfortable just doing videos and art in general if it weren't for all the support you all have given me. while i know i've done a lot already, it always feels like i want to give even more to people who have shown me so much kindness and who just want to see me do more of...whatever the hell it is that i do. i'll save the sappier comments for the update video, but genuinely, while i know i would have gone and made a lot of this stuff regardless of performance, knowing that there is an audience that will be here to see what i come up with is certainly a huge motivator that i think is going to only continue propelling me further as i keep making stuff.

i hope you have had a good 2023, or at least one where you learned something important about yourself, or got to accomplish even a relatively minor goal for yourself. and i hope that your 2024 will end up being better!
