Not sure if someone has updated you yet, but Lucy Lawless (Xena) fractured her pelvis/hip in a horse accident around this time requiring her to be out for 2 months so they had to rearrange/make a lot of changes this season to accommodate that.

I don't know if you have seen any more of this season yet, so I won't yet talk about how the episode ended, with Xena still in Callisto's body.
