If you go back to that episode that fred and gunn were having sex, angel hints that he can hear fred having sex when lorne ask if he hears something. Then later we see he hears connor moving in the hotel even though he was sneaking around proving that his hearing is strong. So angel all this time hears everything fred and gunn were doing but he never said anything. Angelus even said he masturbated to it which may or may not be true on angel's part but if i were in angel's shoes and not getting any i don't know if that though would not cross my mind.
