For example, during the battle Baba Voss would call out to his troops with it, and they would respond back so he could keep track of the battle and how they were doing. 2. Godflame means sun, godstone means concrete, and witches are people who can see, or as they put it, but people who possess the evil of light. 3. The question shouldn't be "why dont they know about the way the world was", the question should be "how long has it been since human beings lost their sight"? 100 years? 200? More?
