And if going through him is the only option left, then what does it really have to do with her taking after someone else? You said it yourself. It's just a natural response. But she is going through shit we can assume Fizzy has experienced multiple times ... and she responds with violence , Fizzy's now default response to problems. I don't think she's old enough to see the parallels and consciously factor that into her judgement of Fizzy, tho. She probably doesn't even know enough about her past to make that connection. But maybe it'll lead to Fizzy remembering her promise. A promise difficult to fulfill in her current state.
