Strongest In DxD - Chapter 83

In addition to his abilities, Ren also acquired Siegfried's demon swords and the Durandal sword, both of which he kept in the [Gate of Babylon].

Currently it was possible to see Ren being followed by his handmaidens as they walked down a long dark corridor, the only sources of light were the several torches scattered on the walls illuminating the path in front of them.

"How long will we keep walking?" asked Joan as she yawned.

"Be patient, we're almost there" said Ren calmly.

"But honestly this is surprising, we've been walking for over five minutes and haven't reached the end yet, you must have gone to a lot of trouble to create all this" said the visibly impressed Immortal Witch.

Ren only let out a laugh.

"Well, actually we are in another dimension, I created it using the power of [Dimension Lost], it's been more than four years since I created this place to be my research lab" informed Ren calmly.

"Laboratory, huh..." commented Semiramis with visible interest.

But before Ren could answer they all stopped when they found themselves in front of a dead end.

Ren only took a step and made a slight wave with his hand and then the earth wall in front of them slowly split in two, they separated as if they were a gate that opens and welcomes its owner, bringing a small tremor in the environment.

"An elevator" meditated Arturia as he looked at the elevator that opened in front of him.

"How deep are we going?" asked Gilgamesh curiously as Okita showed the same curiosity.

"Only a few meters, this path is a form of protection in case someone manages to get in" said Ren calmly, even though he knew there were few beings capable of invading his private dimensions he didn't want to risk it.

Slowly all the handmaids followed Ren as they entered the elevator, no one had said anything as they were all silent.

The elevator let out a 'BING' sound, indicating that they had arrived. Slowly, the elevator door opened and when it did, the handmaids' eyes widened and they felt their breathing stop for a moment.

In front of them ... It's so different from the path they took ... Where the path is so rough and almost looks like a cave when man is still in the stone age, they have to walk a long way to get to the end, but this? This is the opposite.

They felt they had just taken a step into the future? One reminiscent of a science fiction movie in Human World, mixed with some kind of strange place from a horror movie.

The place was big, no doubt very big, both in height and width, even they could barely see the end, but what surprised them was what was scattered all over the area.

They see there so many tubes locked in corners of the cave walls, there many that on the floor, each one of them contains what appears to be a supernatural creature, Angels, Demons, Fallen Angels, Youkais, they even had some that were Dragon-like.

"What is it master?" asked Semiramis without understanding what was happening in front of her.

"Something beyond your comprehension."

A strong, firm voice came from above them, sending a chilling sensation up their spines on the instant. For a moment, all the handmaids felt their hearts stop beating, and before they could turn their heads up, something hit not far from their position.

It was clear. A pure pillar of light, Holy and even Divine. Descending from heaven as if heaven itself opened the gate so that the being could descend to the mortal plane. And yet, what makes it most beautiful is that pillar of light almost like a flowing water, smooth, soft, and without any flaw in it.

And from the pillar of sacred light, out comes an angel.

He was dressed in clothes that covered his appearance. Armor. Gauntlets. Helmet. Silver is their color, pure silver that shines even in the darkness itself. A golden halo hovered over his head, showing his nature as an angel. The very sacred light and divine energy radiated from his mere presence, space itself seemed to distort with his power.

But it was not this that surprised the handmaidens.

It was his wings, the ones behind him.

There were twelve of them. They sprouted from his back, extended elegantly in a majestic manner like the Phoenix beating its mighty wings. Their color is orange with a mixture of white, as if the wings were made of the Divine and Sacred flame itself.

At that moment the handmaidens understood that it was in front of them.

Seraphim

Seraphim are considered the strongest of God's soldiers, the most powerful of the sons of heaven. They were creatures of power, capable of facing the Maou of the Underworld themselves.

The holy light shone from the Angel causing all the darkness in the place to be decimated for an instant, and in that instant the handmaidens caught a glimpse of thousands of beings hiding in the darkness, as if millions of creatures were lurking in the darkness.

The moment the handmaidens saw the being that had appeared in front of them they quickly prepared to advance and exterminate it, but they were stopped by Ren.

"Don't antagonize them Imperius, they are my guests" Ren said in his casual voice, as if he didn't care about the being in front of him.

The Angel, now named Imperius, slowly landed on the ground as the sacred aura around him diminished considerably.

When his feet touched the ground the Angel immediately got down on his knees before Ren.

"Milord, I am glad for your return" Imperius said with his head bowed in utmost sign of respect.

Ren only nodded a little indifferently at Imperius' excessive respect.

"Master, would you mind explaining?" asked Scathach curiously.

"You know about my Sacred Gear [Annihilation Maker]..."

"So he is one of your creations? He is different from the ones you had shown to us" said Semiramis calmly.

"Yes, Imperius is one of my greatest creations, he has his own personality and consciousness" said Ren calmly.

The [Annihilation Maker] allows its user to create creatures based on his imagination, just say that to understand how terrifying this Sacred Gear is.

But if it has this power, what's to stop the user from creating an invincible creature just by imagining it? That was a simple thing, because no matter how vast the imagination is it always has a limit, there is a limit to what can be achieved depending only on the imagination.

So in order to continue to evolve, Ren had to create several other methods for his creatures to become stronger.

For example; the creatures, or rather the Angels that Ren had created to attack the Underworld were absurdly strong, they had Maou class power, but they were beings without consciousness.

They possessed great power, and had knowledge of various fighting techniques, but didn't know how to apply them, they were beings that had power but didn't know how to use them because they moved by instinct.

Imperius was different, he was one of the first creations of Ren that had consciousness, Imperius not only had great power but also had his own personality, his own thoughts and unique characteristics, he was really like one of the Angels created by the God of the Bible without any difference.
