Something happened for The General to weaken, or rather, the light within him. As for Cael, he got 'lucky'... Or almost. He could have ended up anywhere when he fell into that rift, going 'only' to the future was fortunate. I can't say more to avoid spoilers.

But if the slime hidden in armor lost light when Cael was thrown through time wouldn't that mean any fae lost around the man would've weakened the queens protection and power for him? Or that his team was one of the last squads of mixed Fae, Slimes, and Terrarians and by him getting thrown through time that counted as death this weakening the queen at that time....

Each character seems well crafted and it helps that we are able to see from different perspectives which fleshes out the story and characters a lot more. That being said I did not expect Devas to recreate his own version of the scream to wipe out the nighmares nor for Dylan to use his own bastardized version of a breathing style. There's a lot more which I could compliment you on but like how the fight wasn't dragged out between multiple chapters and so but you get the message. Looking forward to future chapters.
