HAPPY LUNAR NEW YEAR, YOU GUYS!! ❤️

1. My New Year

As Elaine has shared on the Water Cooler, the Reunion Dinner on the eve of the first day of the Lunar New Year is a Big Deal for most families, and this year, my sister ordered this dish, called 盆菜 (pén cài) for us.

It's a festive dish that literally translates as Basin Dish, and the whole idea is to put all sorts of goodies to cook in a rich broth in a single dish, hence the "Basin Dish" moniker.

The verdict? It was tasty, and even though you might think that everything probably tastes about the same since it's all cooked in the same broth, that isn't the case; every item has its own distinct flavor too. Not bad! 😋

2. A break for Lunar New Year

In case you missed it, I just wanted to mention again, that because things will continue to be busy for me for the next little while, both in terms of work for the blog & Patreon, as well as real-life demands, I will be taking the week of Lunar New Year off (starting 12 Feb).

As with the Christmas and New Year's break, this break will only apply to the weekly episode notes here on Patreon.

The EOY posts and reviews should continue as scheduled. 😊

3. EOY posts

A few more folks will be sharing their EOYs, and dates aren't cast in stone, but we've still got EOYs from Kun, Trent, and possibly Martina, to look forward to!

David's EOY post is also now up on the blog, and you can check it out here! He's debuting under a new pen name, Taeho, which he explains, in the post. I hope you guys enjoy!

4. Review of Welcome to Samdalri

Originally, I'd been hoping to have my review of Welcome to Samdalri ready for today, but life's been a blur of hectic activity this week, and I have not managed to finish the review yet. 😅

I do hope to finish it within these couple of days, so you can expect it to go up on the main blog sometime this week!

5. This week's Entertainment Drop

I've prepped this week's Entertainment Drop as usual, and I hope you guys enjoy.

This week, I chose a couple of Lunar New Year videos from some of the entertainment agencies for us to enjoy, because they're not only season-appropriate, they're also a nice way for us to glimpse some of our favorite artists. 🤩
