[Poll] Name for the vampire clans!
Added 2024-11-28 22:54:00 +0000 UTCHello everyone, Corintio here!
I'm starting to think about the names of the vampiric "Clans" in Kalyskah. I'm not sure if you've played Legacy of Kain, but in that game, the clan names come from the vampire who started the bloodline. For example, we have clans such as Razielin (Raziel) and Dumahin (Dumah).
I’ve always found this to be a really interesting way to honour the progenitor of each bloodline. In Kalyskah, the clan powers are quite established, so the descendants of each vampire excel in specific abilities, such as:
Alvina: Can speak with and control animals.
Laver: Can control minds and is extremely fast.
Galena: Can shapeshift into animals with far more ease than any other vampire.
Ursula: Can control shadows and use them to 'teleport' around.
Borden: Can force his heart to beat, becoming much stronger, more resilient, and faster than other vampires (although not as fast as Laver's bloodline).
Michael: Can read and understand any language, and absorb knowledge by simply touching the surface on which the content is written (like reading all the books on a bookshelf by sliding his finger across them).
There are other clans, but their progenitors don't show up in the prologue.
As the first vampire, Kalyskah has a unique ability: she can learn any power a new vampire develops by simply tasting their blood. However, she has never tasted Michael's blood because she enjoys taking her time reading books the traditional way.
But something I’ve never thought about until now is a convention to name these clans. Inspired a little by Legacy of Kain, I was thinking about adding a suffix to the name of the progenitor. I have a few ideas, but I’d like to know what you think. Vote on your favourites here in this poll!

You need a clan that is just a make up of village idiots who were turned into vampires, the Bizzaros of vampires.😂

2024-11-28 23:37:25 +0000 UTCI like the idea of making the names sound good overall. However, since Kalyskah is strict about managing her Legion and created this rule herself, she would likely choose something more generic due to her laziness in changing her patterns. She's an old lady hehe
