[News] Plans for august

Hello everyone, Corintio here!

This is my birthday month, which happens on the 4th of august!

But that's not what I wanted to talk about today, and I wanted to let you know what we're working. As always, if you want to give us feedback, feel free to do so!

Monthly Renders

We plan to finish and release the graphic novel featuring Merishya + Tentacles this week to the general public. Marking the start of a new type of reward on our page for the Neonate+ patrons: Monthly novels or render sets. That's because it's been a while since the neonate tier has received rewards bimonthly, and we wanted to change that to give people who support us 5USD something more in return.
Following that logic, this month's render set will portray what people in our Subscribestar voted. Which is Kalyskah receiving a gangb... err.. I don't want Patreon to flag this post with NSFW words, so I think you can guess the rest! This will be a render set, meaning that we won't add dialogues or anything as fancy as what we did last month for the tentacle short story since that would take a lot of the time we will be investing in the RPG in august.

Pre-production of the bigger VN

Yes, like we announced last month, we'll start to work on a longer VN that will be an actual secondary game for our page. It will follow the story of Kalyskah back when she was living in the "stone age", a week after she turned into a vampire. You'll learn why and how she became a creature of the night, and how she started to plot to gather her own legion!
This VN will have a region map and work as a sandbox game. The renders will be done in Unreal Engine 5, and we hope to have the first playable demo within 2 months. But since the pre-production will start this month, I can't guarantee. 

What is this pre-production?
We'll write the story and work on the sprites and the land map. Later we need to decide what type of mechanics we want on it and see if Mrgt will have the time to program things for us =)

What to expect from the novel?
Our main game is an RPG with erotic elements. Meaning that we try to keep a balance between both sides.
The Visual novel will be an Erotic Story first. This means that we will spice things up while telling the story for two main reasons: The first is that it's much easier to make erotic scenes when we don't need to worry about animations and complex gameplay. The second is that the world was more barbaric, and erotic content could fit smoothly with the ancient religions and customs the place had.

We'll talk more about it when we have more graphics done to show.

It's also important to remember that the graphics of this VN is something I'll be working on during the downtime we have while waiting for the animators and voice actors to finish their part before I gather everything into the cutscenes for the quests. So it won't slow down the progress in the main game.

RPG: Adding Context to the prologue

This is the main task this month. In July, we reduced the workload for some team members to save the budget for us to pay the voice actors to record some scripts last month. Now we are working on dialogues to help the player enter Kalyskah's mind; Understand how she thinks at the start, so later on, they can feel exactly what difference their input in her actions and choices make. Kalyskah starts as a self-absorbed monster that can kill for sport and demand sacrifices to keep her subjects in check. How will her compassion change during the game? Up to you!
But one step at a time. We'll focus this month on the new tutorial intro cutscene and adding two new characters: Laver and Amara, for you to meet.

Final thoughts

I know things in term of story and quests have been slower lately than it was in the past six months, but bare with us just a little longer, and you'll see that the new performance the game will reach and the complete rework of the first gameplay hours will be worth the wait!
