[News] About next Royal Blood update

Just a quick post to let you know that following the announcement that we are adding a new mechanic, the ranged combat, the update we plan to release at the end of the month will be a Royal Blood (Test branch) only.
So far, Kalyskah was only able to attack in a short distance and because of that, we used to have cinematics triggering while she was approaching specific locations where NPCs would be idly waiting there. Now that we are adding a way to shoot things we imagine that this could cause some potential issues if she somehow manages to hit and kill people that should be there during a cutscene. Or that the Frost Troll boss will become way much easier than before.
Another expected problem with the incoming mechanics is that Flying around could possibly allow players to leave the playable area or to reach places they weren't supposed to before something else triggered.
So while we track and solve all those problems, we will have the mechanics on the Test Branch until the incoming bugs are fixed.
ps. We have not stopped working on the story to solely focus on the new mechanic, just to give another heads up. The new hairstyle and clothes are mainly for Havier, the leader of the puppeteers guild, and while both his clothes and hairstyle are being done, we are taking our time to improve other areas of the game. So when the leader of the guild shows up he will be a unique character, not just another generic NPC using James' face and the clothes\hairstyles everyone is already used looking at. =)

There are some other improvements incoming, like the splitting of evasion and jump into actions performed under different conditions, in a way that Kaly will always be able to jump even while holding a weapon. Then perform plunging attacks with the possibility of later adding air combos. But I'll leave that for another post!

We thought about that, but the thing is that after we made the AI shoot projectiles and arrows that stick to the character’s body, it was mostly a matter of making the camera look good to have Kalyskah shooting arrows herself... We probably going to add ammo mechanics but that's it. But that’s probably something that vampire hunters will use more often. Once we introduce more spells, we want to give the player the feeling that Kaly will grow to have so many tools at her disposal that shooting arrows will be more useful just to avoid spending resources (Blood Points) to deal with an enemy that players won’t/can’t get too close.
