[Neonate+ Release] Version 0.16.5

Hello everyone, Corintio here!
Today I bring you patch 0.16.5, which hopefully will be the last one of the 0.16 “family” and if we don’t find any game-breaking issues in a week, it will be released to the public pretty soon!
The patch notes might look slim, but remember that we are writing down just things that will be noticeable for now. There was a lot of effort to try to optimize the game a little bit better and although it is not perfect, it is probably a big step compared to what we had before. Please let us know if you notice the difference, the biggest difference should be felt in the open world. =)
Another thing we have been working on in the background for a while is the new inventory and quest-log UI, but those might take another month to be done. But since we have someone else working on that front, we will continue to add more story content in the meantime. We have also been working on the new area for the Puppeteers and on implementing the negotiation system between Kalyskah and bandits that will patrol the surface world. But that's probably for later version 0.17.
About the animations, we have received some really great portfolios so far! And we are close to bringing someone new to the team so we can speed things up on the cutscene building for quests and also expand the ‘toysystem” (our sex-scene sandbox mode).
Fixes:
- Fixed the lights and landscape on Gallery scenes;
- Fixed Kalyskah floating while turning James (The log she was supposed to be on top of is now back)
- Fixed issue where Merishya wouldn’t be interactable while fighting so the player couldn’t help her to stand up
Enhancements:
- Started to build the prison in Millhaven;
- Redone a lot of materials of the landscape;
- Made the spooky forest way much spookier with reworked post-process filters;
- Improvements on troll locomotion;
- Several improvements on the save\load system for ambient music. So if the player saves the game inside of the new cave the music won’t go back to the default one of the open-world;
- Back-end things so quests can be completed or failed;
- Several optimizations on AI, textures, the sky(that now updates only once every 5 seconds), individual objects, etc.
- Disabled Kalyskah's collision at the beginning by default to prevent her from triggering cutscenes if the player saves the game on top of triggers
- Improvements on the way rats move around town. They won’t accumulate in a single area anymore, they should be moving randomly which will help to make sure that they are more well spread around Millhaven.
Features:
- New character on gallery mode (Rosália) eventually she’ll have some storyline on the actual game;
- New type of Enemy (Crystal Hound). You can find them at the new cave.
- New sword: The Daughter of the Dragon.
- The second half of the new quest, An Alchemist Antics, is now done! Try to complete it within 24 hours in-game time or well… no one knows if he’ll be found with his guts on the outside of a camp =(


Known issues:
- The NPCs will flicker and behave awkwardly in the distance, that’s normal for now because we are still working on all the right parameters to get them looking good but also working in an optimal way.
- There might be some fps drop from time to time while entering the city because of the new way the rats are spawning.
- The looks of the cave are not final, we ran into some issues and had to remove some effects to make it work properly
- Saving and reloading the game after you talk with Jessie, but before talking with the alchemist will prevent you from progressing on the quest. Go directly from Jessie to him and things will work fine. This will be fixed before we make the public release.
Hint:
- Kalyskah can deflect projectiles if you time your parry correctly…. The window you have after pressing block is what those sparks on her weapon mean. This might be something you will want to remember =)
