Boss is too easy!

So, I was playing the game today and I realised that it doesn't take more than 20 seconds to defeat the boss... So I was wondering on how to make this combat funnier and well, the step is obvious, increase the boss Health. But that shouldn't be all, simply turning him into a meat shield sounds boring. We are open to suggestions and ideas that you might have to make the boss more challenging!

ps. Another thing I noticed is that Merishya is causing way to much damage to him. I'll reduce it so she doesn't do all the job =P

I loved both ideas! I'll keep them in mind =) Ps. Eventually the vampiric vision will enable kaly to see some special types of creatures. But more of that in the future xD

A lot of action combat games like Dark Souls or Vindictus try to achieve difficulty with windup of attacks and a certain time after the windup, when the attack happens. Often they also rely on wide sweeping attacks, which can catch you offguard. Or they use relentless attacks, so you have to find a window of oppertunity first. If you don't want to deal with new moves and attack patterns, you could just give the boss a hidden bar which fills up when you attack him. The boss doesn't take much damage from attacking, but the bar gives you a damage multiplier, after he crashes into a pillar and is stunned for a little while. Now you can apply some damage and the damage multiplier you stacked up before is applied. Just need to think of something when all pillars are broken. He could either rage, without much damage resistance and wild relentless slashing. Or he could just become tired and easier to defeat... making this encounter a possible "survival encounter" Though so far it was rather easy to avoid his attacks due to Kalys mobility and due to her mist form. When I fought him I just mist formed all his attacks and attacked him in between. For further bosses, an interesting feature might be to use Kaly's vampire sight though. So you are forced to toggle it on and sometimes toggle it off. Maybe you need to watch some footprints in the snow and see if an invisible enemy is close, so you toggle the vision on/off. Or you need to use it to peer into the dark to see something important, like a pattern on the wall which changes after some time. According to that pattern you need to fight the boss differently... yet whenever you use that vision the boss becomes invisible. Just as a random little thought of mine.

2020-08-04 16:14:54 +0000 UTCmaybe just keep him easy ,but you can always make much stronger monsters outside that drop something awesome for the hardcore players to try to get if it powerful or a costume to put on. like in mmo's there is always world bosses that spawn or elite mobs that guard a place. that way everyone is happy because not everyone likes darksouls type of game where you suck you die a lot lol :P

2020-08-04 13:51:01 +0000 UTCHere's an idea: Whenever he smashes one of the columns or runs into a wall, have some stone debris fall from the ceiling in random spots that Kaly will need to dodge or avoid. You could also give him an extra 25% damage resistance when Kaly attacks his head.
