I’m so sorry, this feels indulgent, but the story here is so so so so…. you get it. I’m so obsessed. Getting into my interpretation of the psychosexual gender political dance happening here... Initially, this L is somewhat objectified in Nerdy and Cocky’s eyes. Nerdy views her too idealistically. She’s put on a pedestal, fragile and preserved. He feels she cannot responsibly manage her own emotional entanglements as evidenced by his “defending” her from Cocky’s emotional recklessness. Cocky views her as a means to soothe his ego after the end of situationships. Neither of these are particularly horrible things, they’re fairly tame honestly, but they are both projections on the reality of who this L is. There’s so much percolating tension in their misconceptions of what she’s thinking and capable of. What to do about all this tension, all these little white lies about who feels what and how much, who’s owed justice, etc etc??? Head to the bedroom! The sex is actually the way she takes power back, blowing up the misconceptions about her place in their lives. She becomes real in their eyes, finally a subject as she always was. She does probably like Cocky flirting with her and isn’t emotionally wrecked by it. She does probably know Nerdy is in love with her and just hasn’t made a move yet (too scared to ruin that perfect image he’s created, COWARD). And the two Ms clearly have longstanding incorrect and increasingly stubbornly held notions about each other to work though. Sex is one arena to hash out these power imbalances and disputes. In many literary contexts, this might be executed via a duel (literal or metaphorical) with her as the prize. Boo, lame. Not August, no siree. Her body is actually the terrain, the reason for the season, the conduit for all these big unspoken idea without it ever feeling like we’ve lost sight of her being a subject. The sex is an offering, a portal towards a changed world in which they are all more honest with each other and themselves. My uncle passed away from bone cancer recently. He was an orthopedic surgeon (which he, himself, laughed at the irony, so I think we can all laugh a little too). And in his final days, he made it a point to reach out to as many people as possible and give THEM closure. He wanted to give everyone a good goodbye. I look forward to connecting with you on Instagram, Insha Allah ❤️❤️❤️ EDIT: not me forgetting the nausea tips 😭 I'm not sure which country you're in, but I'm sure you should be able to find some sort of bismuth-based supplement. In North America, we have one called Pepto Bismol. In Canada, we also have an OTC medication called Gravol that is literally a lifesaver. The people in my life know that I get extremely nauseous, and I used to vomit very frequently as a child. Gravol genuinely, really helps me when the nausea just won't stop. There's the salt trick that some people use, where you put a teensy bit of salt on your tongue and it temporarily stops the nausea You could also try observing your daily routines, and see when your nausea peaks. For example, if it peaks in the morning, then you know to take preventative measures at night You can try changing what you're eating, in particular, which foods are not sitting well/contributing to the nausea. For example, for me, personally, I avoid bone-in chicken because I know that MENTALLY knowing that I ate it will make me nauseous later. Sometimes, I've found, nausea can be partly a mental challenge You could look into herbal teas like spearmint and citrus that are supposed to help with nausea. You could also make a "concoction" of cloves, cardamom, cinnamon stick, ginger, and lemon peel. Boil it for at least thirty minutes, then dilute with your drink of choice. For example, I might add two tablespoons of it to my green tea You could try laying down on your stomach or your side instead of your back. You could also try laying flat instead of on several pillows I think, personally, my favourite way to beat the nausea is to be aware and act accordingly. For example, being a passenger in a car for more than an hour makes me extremely nauseous, so either I'm driving, or I'm taking Gravol. If I don't eat for more than a day or two, I get really nauseous when waking up, so I try to at least eat a granola bar even if I don't eat anything else. I know that stress can make me nauseous, so I take Pepto Bismol tablets before exams I also have IBS, so I think I'm a little weary of a lot of the "cures" for gastrointestinal stuff because they rarely work for me. The only thing I found beneficial was eating things with healthy bacterial cultures (think: active yoghurt, probiotic cereal, etc.), and increasing fibre (like the aforementioned granola bars)

I am furious that you are a victim of capitalism's wealth inequality. I am furious that you are having to face death so soon. In this fury, however, I want to say that for you, Saeida, I have nothing but empathy, hope, prayers, and care. So many people face death and mortality in different ways, but in the end, I think most people would agree that whatever time you have on this Earth should be spent in the pursuit of goodness, happiness, and justice. Nausea is absolutely HORRIBLE. I struggle with nausea ad nauseum (pun very much intended haha), and, if you're open to suggestions on ways to combat/cope, please let me know, and I'd be happy to share. In terms of mortality, I don't know your personal belief system, so whatever you believe happens next, I hope you find a way to be content with it. Contentment is a funny thing, right? It's not really happiness, it's not really complacency, it's more this acceptance sans despair or resentment. A few years back, I lost several people in my life within a six month span. And then this past year, I lost another half dozen. At the funerals I was able to attend for those who had been local, I found myself sad but not heartbroken. I think my memories with those people and the closure I had from knowing I had genuinely put effort into maintaining the relationships with them was what protected me. I don't know what you want your final days to look like, Saeida. I don't know what closure looks like to you. But I hope and pray that you are able to attain it soon enough that you are able to cherish it. I've taken courses on palliative care and the ethics behind it. If I may, I would absolutely recommend With the End in Mind by Kathryn Mannix. If you'd like, I actually wrote a short essay on this paper that I'd be happy to share with you as well. The book is written by a palliative care doctor and their experiences with patients at the end of their lives. The two characters are entirely distinct from one another throughout the whole audio, which is incredibly hard to do in a self collab I feel. I don't know how you managed to make cocky M sound so different but you nailed it. Just enough difference to differentiate the two Ms but still August. The whole nerdy in the streets, dirty in the sheets thing kills me and I need me one of these types of guys frfr I loved how shocked cocky M was throughout hearing the filth coming out of his mouth. The use of the "our girl" just about stopped my heart, it was so good. And she was so good at corralling them and getting them to focus on her and stop complaining lol I know the whole point of this audio was the MM but you managed to give the F a strong presence in this one that made it feel even more immersive. You shine when it comes to showing the personality of your characters and this audio is no exception. I can only imagine the amount of work that went into producing this one so I just have to say congrats, sir. On a year of Patreon and an absolute unit of an audio you should certainly be proud of, both for your performance and the technical achievement. There's a reason we say you're the best. I’ve heard other collabs before and none have really sold it for me like it never sounded believable (with the back and forth acting and timing) but yup it’s August so he 100000% made it work 😭 such a sweet little ending it’s hard to believe the amount of filth that was coming out before. Ik who we were all routing for which is nerdy M and his switch was to die for I love how confident he got and how he was the chosen one for the creampie hehehehe. (Also not to make any comparisons but he had some Hughie Campbell vibes fr). Cocky M was great too I love how it was shown in the end that whatever nerdy M thought of him was wrong he just had some problems with how he interacted with them that could be/was solved. But yeah the pacing the story and how hot this was this audio is genuinely perfect. I couldn’t listen without pausing over some of the lines but I made it hehe. Thank you August for taking yet another step into some unknown territory and good on you for absolutely owning it once again like you always do!!! I had to keep pausing at the start because I needed a moment to collect myself, the tension between the characters was awesome and so full of promise of what was to come, but then the SWITCH with nerdy friend jaysus take me now! I also kept marvelling at the script and the editing and thinking my god what an absolutely insane amount of work and done so bloody seamlessly. I was blown away by the pacing of the banter between the two guys - incredible. And I laughed out loud several times at the guys ribbing each other - as always your touches of comedy are perfectly pitched and placed. I would imagine at this point your voice has become a pretty strong trigger to your listeners (I know it has for me) and even though the voices were very different in personality and quality (amazing acting work for real) there's still that August 'essence' lol and so having that, times TWO, at the same time, was insanely pleasurable. The whole experience was super intense. I listened with headphones and hearing one character's moans in one ear and the other's heavy turned on breathing in the other was just...killed me. Killed me dead. It was the best type of sensory overload and I'm gonna be thinking about it all day. I felt like that sensation also kinda mirrored how sensorially overwhelming it would be to actually be in that situation for real, just instead of being crowded with bodies you're being crowded with voices, ya know? Masterful. And I'm sorry, 'you gonna break her in for me?'. Said in that cocky ass tone? Mate. I disintegrated. This audio was fucking sublime and more than worth the wait. If I'd had to wait a year for it it would have been worth the wait. Thanks so much for all your hard work August, it's super appreciated ❤️ Gonna go hit replay now while I do some chores.
