I agree regarding AMR's underwater section. It was definitely one of my favorites since it was mechanically no different but aesthetically one of the most pleasing. There are opportunities to experiment with underwater physics and mechanics (aside from the stereotypical approaches that most of us seem to dislike) that designers just don't seem to explore. Seems like a lost opportunity.

I second Lady L ^ I usually hate underwater sections of most games because they tend to be tedious and make me feel slowed down, but the underwater section of AMR is beautifully sinister and didn't present the aspects of a water level that I usually dislike. I absolutely loved the art and aesthetic of that world from the radiant moon smoking a long cigarette in the night sky to the cold, colorful, but ominous feeling of the open waters. Wonderland's sea is gorgeous and unsettling. There are so many eerie and cool real life marine facts that would make wondrous and dark concepts in an Alice world.

When I read the OZ series there was a queen who wore different faces! She would put on different heads depending on how she felt.

Regarding what you said during the stream about games we'd like to see, I always loved the underwater section of AMR. No tedious swimming or oxygen meter, all the cool underwater aesthetic. I'm a marine biologist and honestly I never see most of the cool shit that exists in the sea in games. Like, there are underwater lakes. Deep pits of hypersaline brine sourrounded by mussel beds. Those are so dense that it's pretty much impossible to get below the surface and there's even 'waves' when part of the brine sloshes around. Then there's the whale carcass gardens. Whenever a large animal like a whale dies and falls to the bottom of the sea, it ends up supporting an entire community of specialist animals that eat everything it has to offer. Bones and all. And then there are the armies of starfish that inhabit the sea bottoms. There's so many of those! Under the antarctican ice there are fish that don't even have blood, they live such slow lives they got rid of blood proteins and instead make some natural antifreeze to keep their blood from freezing. And there are also swarms of cannibal squids that communicate with each other using patterns of light. And UFO-shaped massive colonies of small animals that grow in a string and predate on everything around them (they're related to medusas and sting). Well, I think you mentioned somewhere you don't like underwater sections so I doubt all this is useful, but just in case! I wanted to share, haha.

I was super excited to hear that yiu wanted to start doing other games as well! Oz is one of my favorite fantasy lands and I already have tons of ideas of how it could be done! I also loved the idea of yiu creating a game based on the life of your sister..that was very touching i had an idea about that as well! Tho I wasn't sure where to send that idea tbh and the Oz idea is so long 😅 but I hope it might be of some help to yiu in some way or another maybe spark some kind of inspiration:)
