Page Commentary No. 207

Psu: I think the bottom right is Gunwild's favorite joke.

Gunwild: I know there's some other stuff on the page but I only care about the intentionally stupid joke we stole from The Critic and made less funny... because it got me that dumb drawing. And I love that dumb drawing.

Psu: I think we also stole the internet joke "I had fun once, it was horrible." When the first time we show Maddy happy in this actual comic, she gets stabbed.

Gunwild: Let that be a lesson to us all.

Psu: Uh.... smile less. Stab more? Which founding father said that?

Gunwild: I mean I guess of them, Hamilton and Washington would have been in the most direct position to do so? But that sounds more like the soldiering stoic, Washington.

Psu: Anyway, I think "Punch them in the knees" is the most violent thing you've ever written. And I'm including the fact that Maddy got stabbed in the same page.

Gunwild: I wonder if the knee or the punching hand would get more hurt in that exchange. Knees are pretty big compared to fingers.

Psu: Yeah but you only have two knees but ten fingers... I think we've blathered on a lot without talking about the substance of this page.

Gunwild: That's sort of our general process.

Psu: Visually, I wanted this page to feel like a dead "stop" to the proceedings. So you've got a lot of dull light covering up the dramatic shadows from before. We have Feti crashing through the  holo display that we established in the previous pages. And the horizontal panel in the middle just cuts through everything and things go to a stand still. Even the borders become more regular again.

Gunwild: Ah, I didn't notice that. Probably because I enjoy regular borders more...

Psu: Man... ya know what I hate seeing. Someone who's there to have fun only to find out they're gonna have a bad time. That's my least favorite thing to see.

Gunwild: Seeing Maddy enjoying things or being makes Feti really mad! She'll enjoy the rest of the webcomic, then.

Psu: Pffft. I dunno if she'll appreciate the pinups on our Patreon though. I don't really want to get stabbed...

Gunwild: Well you're the creative force behind those, I think I'm in the clear...

Psu: As long as she only stabs my left arm, I think we can still keep making comics.
