2021-07-20 04:56:43 +0000 UTCVery good analysis of why people join cults and similar movements, but don't forget that analysis can be applied not just to "conservative" politically leaning groups, but also "liberal" leaning ones. Historically many political groups have siezed power in similar ways by pushing views that thier members "chosen" or special in some way, and are being oppressed by a convenient scapegoat group with differing views.
