Gunwild: Mercy's got a bit of an Adam Warren fanged grin in panel 4. I like it!
Psu: Look... as it stands I’m just gonna have to pretend that the colors were blown out by a flashbang. Regardless of that, this is actually one of my favorite hero moments in the comic.
Gunwild: It's something small, but I hope that even with the color semi-absent, at least one person noticed Nimoo is impressed by Mercy's hair because it's pink, like him. As he was also impressed with Cupcake's when they first met! A guy's gotta have a favorite look.
Psu: It was very important that the cho-co-late cake be the piece with the little pink rose on it. But I gotta say, Nimoo must be really careful with his bag lunch for it to come out in such a delicious looking condition.
Psu: Oh, ya know... I just realized. I think this is the only time I ever drew Mercy smiling. Frankly we didn’t quite know what her character was like just yet. Would that be fair to say?
Gunwild: Yeah. But also after this job she's in much less of a position to smile about things. This is the first one she ever botched.
Psu: Nothing like a bit of failure to humble you.
Psu: Even when that failure comes with chocolate frosting.
Gunwild: I'm saying Nimoo's food-wrap creates a stasis-type seal around things, which is why his cake is so well intact. An important feature for futuristic bandages!
Psu: It probably even keeps things nice and fresh... hey wait. That wouldn’t be the same tech that we see again in a couple pages?
Gunwild: MMMMAYBE. We can talk about what we originally came up with the "stasis box" idea for then.
Psu: It was going to be a very important story! But it might not be as important as seeing Cadet Nimoo’s bravery in action.
Gunwild: Nimoo is interested in human things, but even more interested in JUSTICE. Or duty, whatever.
