2017-01-23 20:21:32 +0000 UTCImpressive catch. The answer is mostly that Du Fu is one of the few Chinese poets I (Gunwild) know off the top of my head. The other thing is that it ends with the line "one goose flies high into the sky," and in a sci-fi context that reminds me of the recurring theme of wild geese leading the protagonist to wander in Robert Heinlein's "Time Enough For Love." So, basically, it means something different to me than what was intended, but that's part of why I like it.
