Added 2016-10-20 16:42:55 +0000 UTCSoooo the Switch is a thing, huh? Wow. Quite the early birthday present. Yeah, I'm going to have to move things around a bit.
Way too much to do and not enough time to do it! The Mass Effect video needs to come well before November 7th, and "The First Game That Scared Me" needs to come before the end of October, but now I positively HAVE TO do something on the Switch. So right now I'm not really sure how this is going to play out. Worst case scenario, I have to either release "First Game" too late for the Halloween season, or hang onto it until next year. A huge amount of the work is already done on the Mass Effect one, so that gets priority. (I've shot most of it and edited together what I call the "skeleton" of the video, and now it's mostly just pulling in footage for each part, which can be pretty time-consuming.)
The video I'm going to do on the Switch isn't going to be a simple recap and analysis though; instead I'm going to use an idea I had when the hybrid rumors were first popping up. I think the idea of one unified console could be Nintendo's future, and could be a big success for them, so I really want to touch on that. It's clear that the handheld market is shrinking and so is the demand for traditional Nintendo home consoles, so this is really great. I just didn't want to release such a video so "close" to the reveal (didn't end up being very close at all, did it?) in case they didn't end up going with the hybrid idea. So I'm going to start work on that video asap, and try my best to finish the Mass Effect one in the meantime.
Things are so crazy I barely have time to properly thank you guys for getting me to my $500 goal! It happened so fast my head is still spinning, and at this point I don't even know what to say or do! I do know I'll have to get recording on another batch of LP's though, so that should be fun.

There is something so incredibly satisfying about seeing true passion, and the whole Christmas morning experience. Looking forward to seeing the proper Arlo take on NX - err - Switch. But for now, the reaction video was priceless.
