Welcome to the seventh weekly update!!
WHAT HAVE I BEEN UP TO?
Now that the whole driving across the country part of the move is over and done with, we've been working on settling into our new house!
I'm very happy to announce that every single pet, down to the last snail, made it safely with us and settled back in with no problems! All of the reptiles have resume their regular eating schedules, both of the geckos have successfully shed, and the snails have resumed, uh, doing whatever it is snails spend their days doing. Mostly sleeping, pooping and boinking each other.
It's not gonna completely cover the rent by itself, but I have a new part-time job! I'm working as a custodian at a local library. I actually really like jobs where I have a set task to do, and I'm left by myself to do it, so I'm really enjoying it so far! I just go in after the library is closed and spend two hours cleaning stuff. I also get to use this super cool professional vacuum cleaner that straps on like a backpack! Vroom vroom!!
As a whole, the main things that are taking some getting used to are the humidity (its so humid! I don't think I've been completely dry since we left the west coast) and this thing the roads do sometimes where a bunch of lanes merge without any lane lines and whatever happens in the middle happens. Very scary; definitely never saw that in the bay area.
Finally, I've found a beautiful new place to run! There's a reservoir nearby with a three-mile loop and absolutely gorgeous wildlife. So far, I've seen a blue heron, a bald eagle (!!), and many many ducks and bugs of all sorts!

WHAT HAVE I BEEN WORKING ON?
Maybe it's the change of scenery, or maybe it's having plenty of time to myself in my own space, but I've been feeling pretty darn productive lately! I've been making diary comics regularly, did a full-blown illustration I'm pretty darn proud of, did a sketch page of some various animals from around my brother-in-law's homestead, and put in some more work on the Punk and the Pigeon! Not bad, if I say so myself.

WHAT HAVE I BEEN INTO?
An unordered and incomplete list of things I’ve particularly enjoyed the past week:
- The Cafe and Diner ARG. I've talked a little about it on tumblr, but this is the latest ARG I've been into, and it's sooooo good! It's about an undercover group using a Cafe as a front for catching cryptids and returning them to their rightful dimension, the Other Side. I've been pouring hours into fixing up the wikia for it. The wikia is still very much a work in progress, but if CaD sounds at all interesting, you should check it out! (See how many articles you can find that I wrote! :P)
- Queer Eye. Ok, ok, I KNOW I'm super late to the party, but I'm finally watching QE, and I really love it! The Fab Five are so joyous and positive, and it's incredible to watch unapologetically gay men existing on screen and helping others.
- Heathers: The Musical. I packed this soundtrack as one of our CDs for our trip, since I hadn't given it a proper front-to-back listen, and now I'm OBSESSED. I've been listening to it multiple times a day for the past two weeks now. I've never actually seen the original movie, so I don't know how well it holds up in comparison, but as a stand-alone musical it's probably in my top ten! My favorite tracks are Freeze Your Brain, Dead Girl Walking (both the original and the reprise), and Lifeboat. Ugh, I could write a whole essay about how well done the songs in this musical are! If only I still did the Break A Leg radio show. ;o;
That's all for now! Hope you all have a good week!!💖💞
Love,
Dave
