My cat Max (on the left) has two new friends. Here they share the sofa for the first time together. Still a bit cautious of each other. In the middle is Lolo or Lorenzo. A cute cornish rex. They are really that slim by nature. Even if there is endless food in the kitchen. On the right is Pelusa, a really big cat, that weighs almost 8kg - so much cat to love :)
Originally I only wanted one more cat, but it turned out to be really hard to find cats that are 10+ years old. Gladly I found that Argentinian Couple on the internet. They brought these two cats from Argentina to Vienna as babies. But now that they have their own kid, it turns out that it is allergic to the cats, so they searched for a new home.
It was a big decision to take both, but I figured one more cat won't make a difference. Which I was right and wrong about. Like all cats, they don't need much attention when they are in a group. Food and a place to sleep is basically all they need. But of course, all cats have big personalities. Lolo loves to meow in the middle of the night - finding the acoustically perfect spot in the flat to make it as loud as possible. Pelusa loves to sleep under my mattress topper - no idea how he gets air down there, but it's warm and cozy. Good thing he is so big, so I can easily spot him under there before I fall into bed ;)
Sharing the love equally is also a big task. Especially making sure that my old cat Max doesn't feel left out. So every time I cuddle one cat, every other cat needs to get a cuddle too, in their own specific way they like it.
Btw.: The book on the sofa is "The Art of Asking" by Amanda Palmer - singer of The Dresden Dolls. A very good read. Also, the reason why I share this story with you and why I want to make a Crowdfunding for new gear. She says that asking people for help and sharing your good/bad moments with them, is just as important as making your art for them. Because it includes them and makes them a family. :)
