Cassie on the couch

It's a sweet set with CB modeling on the studio couch.

Now, this may look like it’s natural light from my studio windows, but it isn’t; it was too dark outside:

I set up a lamp with barn doors to mimic the effect: Illuminate a large area to the side of the model. I could have diffused the light to be more even, but I liked the slightly harder look from this.

One of the main differences between this and daylight is that more light in this setup will be reflected onto the ceiling from the blinds. This will change the shadow areas and give more light into the room, which is not necessarily my favorite scenario. I could have mitigated this by placing a giant flag (2m wide) parallel to the floor so the blinds can’t reflect too much on the ceiling.

But frankly, I was too lazy.

While this may sound strange, one of the benefits of writing these posts is that I get to think about what I could have done better, which hopefully will help me keep improving.
