I have painful memories of this image, even though I think it was worth it.
We should have done a lot more there, though, but I couldn’t:
The day before, I broke my pinky-toe after slamming it into a concrete ledge.
So I taped the foot up with Sports tape and did a morning shoot on the Black sand beach in Lanzarote.
But then Wiana and I went to this place, where I had to scale the rocks wearing Birkenstock sandals (the only thing I could fit my foot into) while scaling the sharp lava rocks climbing down.
What you don’t do for art 🤪
At this point, I was hopping around on bare feet because the lava was less painful than wearing shoes.
We did some OK work, but in retrospect, I should have spent the afternoon on a sofa.
I can chill and relax with the best, but when we start to work, I have a one-track mind and will do everything I can to go through with it.
PS. I didn’t realize the toe was broken.
I found out four days later back home, and the doctor told me not to do much on it for a month if it hurt.
Yeah, Right…
