This is a page of thumbnails and writing concepts I put down while we were working on the Ed Edd n Eddy movie.
From very early on I wanted to change one thing about the script-- Eddy and Ed were played as bullies to Double Dee when Double Dee wanted to go home.
This felt strange to me from a motivation perspective, so I wrote a lot in my journal on how I would "fix it" if I were given the chance.
I'm incredibly thankful to the other artists and to Danny for letting me pitch a different version.
This all came very much from the heart of a fan and someone who loves film.Danny ordered all of these really great books about film that I went out and bought copies of. I really tried to implement what I had learned from them and still reference them to this day.

Oh wow, I didn't realize that scene was going to be like that before you pitched for the idea to change it. Honestly, I agree that the change was a good idea; it didn't really make sense for Ed and Eddy to bully Double D for having second thoughts about trying to find Eddy's brother/wanting to go home. Then again, I guess when you're 12/13 years old (how old are they in the movie?), you don't really think that far ahead on how your actions to your friends and other people do have consequences. I guess that's why middle school is hell on earth for a lot of kids. So for Ed and Eddy (mostly Eddy) to finally come to the realization that he went too far on their prank on Double D, that made everything better. ;^;
