An unexpected MagicCon

Has anyone ever missed a con by accident? I nearly did.

For years, MagicCon Bonn was the same weekend and the Games Con in Essen, so I very obviously looked up the latter and simply assumed MagicCon would be the same weekend (i. e., next weekend). I had planned to do new signs for my table and have the Caleb print done over the next week. And then, on Thursday at break, my friend Becky sent me a text saying she was stuck on the train and didn't know when she'd be in Bonn.

My first thought was, well, she's travelling to the con early.

My second thought was, Fuuuuuuuuuuuu....

So once again, I profited from having Fridays off this term, or I wouldn't have been able to make it! I chucked all the con stuff into my car after school and drove to Bonn to set up my booth, went home to pin loads of pins, and drove to Bonn again for the first day of con on Friday - without my daughter, of course, because she had school! @_@

I wish I could say this sort of thing had never happened to me, but I'm the one who handed in her final thesis a day late because she thought that was next week, too. I'm a MESS with dates. I look it up, remember it vaguely, and at some point my brain turns the vague memory into a very precise date that is about a week after the actual one.

It was still a great con, even if it started out rather stressy. The Caleb in the Library print would have done GREAT, but well, no use crying over spilled potion. So con season is over, and I have the entire autumn holidays ahead of me, which is definitely good!

I did a few sketches at my table again; Faramir and Luna Lovegood are sold, but Percy, Caleb and Caduceus are available! Drop me a note if you're interested.

I also finished the Orym and Will piece, which I'm calling "I'll see you soon", after a line Orym said at Will's grave. (One con-goer said I should offer a box of tissues next to my prints, two actually teared up with two of the pieces...) Critical Role did REALLY well overall; it's getting more and more fans in Germany! I saw loads of CR t-shirts and cosplays.
