Preview/Update 23/11/21

Morning, all! I am so sorry for the radio silence over the last week. I took a couple days at the start of the week to just decompress, then by the time I remembered that I needed to do an update it was already Friday. Whoops. Unprofessional, I know, I suck.

Dark is almost done, as seen in the preview above. I’ve gotten good feedback from both Rice and OG over what I’ve shared, and I only have a little left to do before the draft is complete. Then it’s on to canon Self Insert, which is already fully planned and well underway. Had to do some revisions to squeeze an important fan service- I mean ‘character development’ scene in there, which has screwed up my timeline, though. We are still on track to get both of these done by the end of the month, though. I hope.

I do apologise for all the delays lately. Working in hospitality at this time of year is never easy, and with all the covid restrictions easing in Australia right now, things are getting nuts. I can’t promise that there won’t be delays next month, too, but hopefully (good lord, do I hope…) things will go back to some semblance of normality in January. TL;DR: working full time sucks ass.

So, yes, I finally made it to my blessed time off. I have done nothing. The last three days or so have been nothing but writing and painting (when smoke started coming out of my ears from focusing too long), and the time before that I basically just spent sleeping and relaxing. And I can safely say, god damn did I need this break. I gotta start doing this more regularly, just taking a week or two off every six months. I suck at this whole self-care thing.

I kinda rediscovered the Harry Potter series lately. I was a huge Potter fan right up until I was in early high school (which I think is equivalent to the end of middle school in the states?) and I discovered the joy of anime. I’ve been joking that I’m going through my midlife crisis already, reconnecting with all these old things like this that brought me so much joy in my youth. Also, Luna is best girl and if you disagree you’re wrong. Aside from that, yeah, nothing interesting going on. I got as far as reinstalling Arkham City onto my PS4, but I haven’t had the chance to play it yet. I keep taking naps instead. I regret nothing. I’ve also really been smashing through my miniature pile of shame, getting done a lot of projects I’ve wanted to work on for ages now. I finished three boxed games so far (to be fair, though, I was already almost done one of them, and the other two were quite small) and next on the agenda is Eomér from The Lord of the Rings. The mini even looks like Karl Urban! I love it!
