MC's Voice... meh... and a CHALLENGE!
Added 2023-02-26 16:42:02 +0000 UTCI've decided I don't like the MC's voice. The problem is that it's too unemotional. I can't get the AI engine to inject any sort of anger, fear or sadness into it, no matter what I do. I'll certainly do a search to find a good voice candidate to clone, but I'd love some suggestions from you guys as well.
So the CHALLENGE is: Help me find a suitable voice I can CLONE with the AI to give the MC a new voice.
Requirements:
- Young (or young sounding voce)
- Voice not too deep
- Hopefully not such a recognizable voice that people would immediately identify him as a particular actor. Though some well-known actors aren't so easily identified by voice only, so maybe don't be too picky here.
- Standard American accent (though possibly might work with other American accents such as Southern, New York, Boston, since I think if the AI can't recognize an accent (which it can't with those), it just throws the accent away and goes with standard American. I'd love to be able to give him a slight NY accent, since that's where he's originally from, but the AI can't yet do an NY accent.
- Must be a lot of available voice clips online of him speaking (and here's the tricky part) WITHOUT music and hopefully with emotion: anger, laughter, sadness, fear.

2023-02-27 04:26:12 +0000 UTCSo I actually like his voice for this, but the trouble so far is finding good clips of him emoting without background music or noise, at least at an age young enough that he could still pass for around 30. Interview clips I could find, and those serve well as a good baseline, but to really go to town I'd want him talking with emotion. In playing around with YouTube searches I've found that screen test or audition recordings work well, IF I can find them. So far, nothing for Gallagher. If you know of anything that might work, please let me know or attach a link. In the meantime though I'll stick what I found into the sausage grinder and see what comes out.
