Sorry for Tuesday, but this post resumes regular updates. I finished this scene (Chapter 12, Scene 1) and finished the script for scene 2. Also started the script for scene 3. Creating new environments takes the longest out of anything I do, and this last scene had many different ones. Over the last months and years I have purchased every single halfway-decent city environment, building and building generator... all to make sure I would have the best shot at creating scenes that look like they could be in present-day Los Angeles. But even with all that, it's a struggle. It's personally annoying to me that 3D content creators focus so strongly on medieval, fantasy, science fiction, "noir" and "past-era" environments rather than the everyday, modern world you and I live in! But they do, and as annoying as it is, I don't fault them for it: they have to create products that SELL.
Anyway, chapter 2, scenes 2 and 3 should be challenging because it all takes place in the same environment: Jimmy B's billiard bar, and will have to have a lot of extras ("Jimmy" himself, bar customers, drinkers, pool players). I'll push that number as high as I can. Should be interesting to see how many I can include before it's too many even for my new graphics card!
