The Alpha Gender Synopsis

The events take place in Los Angeles, California about the year 2030.

The MC is male. His name is your name (entered at the beginning of the game) but if you choose not to, his name is Brian Bannister. You're 29, 5'9 1/2" and 180 pounds. You have a BS in finance from Columbia University and work in the commercial loan department of a bank. You're due for a big promotion. You're really not happy with your job. You'd rather be in construction, like your dad. But this pays well, and it's what everyone seems to want you to do. You have a hot girlfriend named Nina who's blonde, busty and tall (about an inch taller than you). She's always been the smart one, and works in corporate acquisitions. You live together in a nice house given to you by your dad.

The problem you face is adjusting to recent changes. About 2 years ago, women all over the world started to change. Scientists have made progress defining WHAT the changes are, but not really WHY, except for some educated guesses. The media, and now everyone else, just calls it the Change. It's developed over 2 years and changes are really still occurring, but so far it includes:

• Physical strength increase. The average adult woman now is about 2-3 times as strong as the average man.
• Increase in physical speed. No real numbers on this but they're just faster.
• Faster reflexes.
• Many women report greatly improved health such as increased resistance to disease, and more rapid recovery.
• Increased intelligence. Studies indicate an increase of 15 IQ points on average.
• Improved sense perception across all senses: sight, hearing, smell, taste, touch, balance, muscle proprioception, etc.
• Increased competitiveness, aggression and sexual libido
• Changes to hormonal response and sexual reproductive function and anatomy. These are still largely unknown.
• Probably increased or altered pheromone excretion, such as androstenol, that affects the behavior of men and possibly other women. This is the latest change documented and the least well understood.
• There have been some apparent changes in appearance, mostly increased muscle tone and reduced subcutaneous fat

There are really no negative effects reported by or noticed in women. Despite the consensus that these changes are epigenetic in nature brought on by some unknown trigger, there have been no reported changes in men.

The challenge of all this is both psychological and sociological, mainly the latter. Men and boys are increasingly finding they're surpassed by females, and adjustment is difficult. Female unemployment is down, male unemployment is up. Men often take to the streets to protest social changes which mostly seem to be the result of the increasing power of women in political, cultural, academic, athletic and occupational spheres.

As you try to understand and adjust to this upheaval, you're about to find your life turning upside down. Your value in society is not what it used to be. You seem to come up short in so many ways now. You'll find you still have worth in this new world, but it's not necessarily the way you expect...
