TAG Chapter 1 Progress: Update #17

The sex animation is completely done now and I'll say it looks amazing. It was challenging but coming into it I honestly had no idea how certain movements could be animated convincingly. Fortunately everything fell into place. Generally my preference is to do all the animations at the same time once I've finished all the still renders for a release, but in this case there were several problems that needed to be solved that were the same for the stills and the animation so it made sense to do them all at the same time. My thought though is that Animation is by far the hardest portion of this work to do right, and if I do them all at once in a batch they'll be better quality and done more quickly because I'll be "in the animation groove", and not having to re-learn how to do it right for each animation.

That's the positive side of the last few days. The not-so-positive side is some challenges on the software end of things. Daz Studio just had an update which added an amazing new feature I definitely want for TAG and needed to test, but upgrading to the new software version caused some complexities with making wet skin textures work for the still images in this scene. I think I've got them squared away now but it took some doctoring of images in Photoshop to make them look right. Aside from the animation I only completed two still renders (with another cooking right now), but I got a lot of testing done with regard to the new Daz Studio feature, which creates convincing smoke, fog, fire, explosions, etc.

The poll for the character profile sheets for Petra and Kerren is done and there were slightly more votes in favor as opposed so I'll get those done and posted probably before or on Friday.
