Grumbling update
Added 2021-05-21 05:11:36 +0000 UTCHello, Dear Readers.
Long story short, I completed the last part yesterday, but then we had a freak power outage while I was editing, and the file I used got corrupted. Thankfully there was a backup, so I didn't lose all my work, but I still have to write down a sizable chunk from scratch again. I will try to do so today after work, but in the worst case scenario, it might only get finished on the weekend. Sorry for that, it's not entirely in my control.
On an unrelated note, I signed an audiobook deal with Podium Audio. They are going to release the already available volumes of The Simulacrum on Audible in three parts (the second volume will be divided in half, because it's kind of humongous. In retrospect, I might have gone just a little overboard with the slice-of-life there...), and their terms were fairly reasonable considering they would be doing all the heavy lifting when it comes to production and marketing.
Anyhow, I'll hopefully update soon-ish, and until then, have a nice day. In fact, have a nice day after that too!

We are still very early in pre-production. I still have to finish re-editing the first two volumes, which is becoming an absolute time-sink already, and then according to my contact, it takes around six to eight weeks for the production to wrap up per volume. In other words, it will take a while. As for the narrator, I don't have anyone yet. Once I delivered the final manuscript, they said they would give me a couple of options to choose from, but we are still pretty far away from that stage.

2021-05-29 09:21:58 +0000 UTCAwesome to hear the story is being made into an audiobook! I'll definitely pick up a copy! just make sure that they get a good narrator for it! With a story like this, one that leans into the refuge in audacity, a good performance can make or break it!

2021-05-21 11:43:46 +0000 UTCI recently had a momentary power drop that ruined a fourteen hour 3D print π₯, probably need to get a UPS.
