In the sketch book
Added 2021-07-07 18:18:28 +0000 UTCRoadrunners are quirky little birds! I’ve often noticed the similarities between depictions of dinosaurs and present day birds. Especially so when I began sketching various poses of these birds.
They’ve got crazy combs, and super long, awkward looking legs. Legs that proportionally are usually seen on much larger birds. But it makes sense because roadrunners are largely flightless. They have to be strong to cover those distances and chase lizards and snakes.(Or perhaps outrun coyote! Like on my Saturday morning cartoons.)
There are several animals that will be included in the, “They Call Me Coyote” series. Animals of some sentimental, symbolic, or spiritual significance to me. The roadrunner is just one of them!
