This week I have for y’all two different ‘true angel’ celestials! The harbinger’s idea first came about with the phenomenon of “feeling something in the air,” whether that is tension, or electricity, or some kind of socioemotional phenomenon, and I thought ‘what if divinity itself creates that same feeling?’ Then, because of its sheer power, I thought that the presence of divinity would cause manifestations to appear, really leaning into the grotesque and pulpy while drawing inspiration from the cherubs and baby angels with their trumpets, announcing the presence of divinity. The result, are these little guys; harbingers of the lord that are sprouted and birthed from nothing whenever the presence of divinity is suffused in the air that serve a singular, instinctual purpose: to play horrifying music to herald the arrival of the divine.
The reshapers were my initial take on the ‘biblically accurate angel,’ leaning into the idea that this kind of angel is perhaps an antiquated or archaic angel that is more artificial and ‘robotic’ than the others. Instead, the reshaper was simply an extension of divine will to recreate, reconfigure, and change the earth and matter to better fit the image of Divinity; not abiding by normal rules of flight and the law of conservation of energy (it causes things to simply cease to exist). I was inspired by the fibonacci sequence, the golden ratio, and this idea that an angel was created to make things more like that, which creates fun fucked up imagrey of this angel reshaping one’s skeleton to be more symmetrical!
