[Progress Report]: 24th of December

Hey everyone,

Merry Christmas!

I have to admit, if I were better at planning the release dates out, I would probably navigate around the holidays better than I do now. Regardless, it's not like I mind rendering on these days. Everything is closed anyway!

Above you'll see an upcoming event for Valentina despite the prominent presence of Artemisia in the picture. I wanted to show why you're seeing Artemisia, but... I've decided not to spoil it. Since This update was planned to be shorter on content from the very beginning, I've been investing the additional time needed into a class of character that doesn't get much attention: the background characters.

I've used some of the extra time the new computer parts have offered me to give a slightly more updated look to Kelly Clark, which you'll really be able to see in-game on close up, and today I'll be tackling our story's youngest redhead: Josie Keegan! Why is Josie coming up? You'll just have to see!

Long-term subscribers are already familiar with the concept, but I do like to perform minor visual updates on characters from time to time that bring their look closer in-line with what I believe they should look like and not what my skill at 3D modeling has limited them to. The additional time has also given me time to think about the game in a broader perspective, and made me realize that we might be spending a little bit too much time in the Academy and not nearly enough in Nierhaven proper. 

Well, the new computer was upgraded with new storage space, so I have a lot more room to play around with assets! I spent the earnings for Superheroes Suck for the entire year on the new computer, and as I look forward to the next year of development, I will be back to purchasing assets to help flesh out the world and provide new environments and opportunities for the characters.

Also, I spend more time in the Academy than anyone, and the fact we haven't been able to leave in a while is driving me virtually stir crazy. I think a little change of pace will be good for everyone, and know that many of you would like to explore the outlying world a little more.

Anyway, that's it for me this week! My plan is to finish the above event and get started on Harper's finale renders next week!
