(A Version of) The Sexual Response Cycle

https://www.ohjoysextoy.com/sexual-response-cycle/

Hey. Hey buddy. Did you know there's more to having sex than chasing an orgasm?

This week I do my best to illustrate the different stages that a person's mind and body can go through when it's getting all turned on and horned up!

I took some liberty with my listing of the sexual response stages, as I note in the comic. Most commonly, when people talk about the SRC, they’re referring to the classic Masters and Johnson’s four phase model, which just includes Excitement, Plateau, Orgasm, and Resolution. But then Kaplan came along in the 1970s and was like ‘Whoah, whoah, you guys left out step one: DESIRE. And also I think we can condense this a bit?’ so she reshuffled some stuff around and developed the three phase Triphasic model, which starts with Desire, proceeds to Excitement, and then concludes with Resolution. I think of OJST comics as appetizers, a small snack to wet your appetite before you fill up on the main course– so if the various stages of sexual response that I mashed together in today’s strip interest you, I hope you’ll be inspired to do some more research on them yourself!

Yup yup, just sent it along to Matt to edit it for the print version. Thank you!

So long as it's caught before it ends up in something "permanent" like a book. :)

You have the honor of being the first person to point it out!

Small typo (is it a "typo" if it's hand-written?) - In the "Orgasm" phase, you write "It's possible your body may ejaculate some fluid though(sic) the uretra..." and I'm pretty sure that should be "thRough" (emphasis mine). Honestly I'm surprised nobody else commented on it (based on the fact that the incorrect version is still on the site).

Hm! Thank you for bringing this up! I was under the impression that the Skene's Glands *produce* the fluid, and then that fluid is ejected *through* the urethra, like how the prostate and urethra work for producing AMAB ejaculation. I'll do some more reading up on it! Right off the bat, I found this article (WHICH I'VE ONLY SKIMMED) and it makes a distinction between ejaculating, squirting, and gushing and the exits points where it gets expelled: <a href="https://www.invitra.com/things-you-didnt-know-about-the-female-ejaculation/" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">https://www.invitra.com/things-you-didnt-know-about-the-female-ejaculation/</a>#where-does-it-come-out-from "Ejaculating: It comes out from the urethra despite being produced by the Skene’s glands from the G-spot. Squirting: It is defined as a form of dilute urine that is generated by the bladder, but exits from the urethra as well. Gushing: It involves the expulsion of clear fluid from the urinary bladder." Like I said, I'll do some reading! Thanks for bringing it up :)

Minor correction. In a vulva-body, ejaculate actually comes from Skene's Glands (next to the urethra) and not from the urethra itself. (see Sexplanations: <a href="https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lzngn1ZPr4k" rel="nofollow noopener" target="_blank">Female Ejaculation</a> among other sources)
