2025-02-26 18:17:21 +0000 UTC27:45 The anime adapts the manga, the manga's writer is Ohba Tsugumi and the illustrator is Obata Takeshi. The episode's writers just adapt the manga for the most part, so pay attention to the manga writer not the episode writers. Unlike American tv shows or movies that adapt American comic books quite loosely/not that faithfully, anime tv shows usually adapt manga very faithfully, same panels, same art style, same dialogue. Anime adaptations usually just add color (manga is usually black and white to save printing costs), animation/movement, voice acting and music but the story, dialogue and how it looks is usually taken straight from the manga.

Like hydra, you cut off one head and two more grow back. Now he has two “L-successors” coming after him and the feeling of being trapped chained to L, even 3-4 years after his death gave me chills

2025-02-24 19:28:48 +0000 UTCI belong to those who really like part 2 and while it was rushed and left some things out from the manga, I love the characters introduced here. Love the L(ight) vs N vs M aspect here. Also I wanted to clarify one thing: Tsugumi Ohba wrote the story of Death Note. The anime is an adaptation of the original manga. The writers listed for the episodes are people who adapted the original manuscript from Ohba to the a screenplay for the anime. Same with the character design. While the original art in the manga is from Takeshi Obata, Masaru Kitao was the character designer of the anime. He adapted Obatas art and made design sheets for the animators to follow.
