Ok, now that i think about it, Mushoku its really not the best watch for Badd Medicine, but i stand with Classroom of the Elite. It is not a mediocre copy, it has it's own story, its twists and turns, and great characters. If you dont like it, thats another story, i as a Patreon have voiced my wants.

The 2003 version has a better, darker atmosphere and color palette, the backstory hits harder in the original 2003 FMA and people get more attached to the characters. But after the first 8 episodes of FMA 2003 they should change to FMAB and skip the first 4 episodes (episode 1 is filler and episodes 2,3 and 4 are too rushed) and start with FMAB episode 5.

Mushoku Tensei is down right a creepy, pervy story, it's really not a good anime to introduce to new anime watchers. Also Classroom of the Elite is a power fantasy for teenage boys and a mediocre copy of Death Note. Monster and Code Geass are way better written than Mushoku Tensei and Classroom of the Elite.

As someone who's around the age of these guys, but who grew up with anime, and has almost the same taste in media, I'd only recommend FMAB. I don't think they'd enjoy Demon Slayer and JJK, which don't have much complexity in their writing/story. Haven't watched Vinland yet.

Yes, I think so too. However, Mason or someone else once said something like “Tell me about shows like SG and AIB”, so I'm recommending Kaiji, which is one of the origins of the genre.

FMAB is widely regarded an almost perfect anime. The other 3 are more recent but pretty much at the top of their rankings at what they do. Vinland Saga is not as appreciated as the first 3 but I do believe it's the one you guys will enjoy the most out of the batch

I watched their AoT reactions and don't at all recall them complaining during any of the slower paced moments in it. We'll have to see what they think when they do eventually get to Vinland Saga, but I have a hard time imagining them not being fully invested. It's also hard to claim it as overrated. It's not "niche" by any means, but it's never been as big of a name in anime as some of the more "mainstream" titles. The slower pacing of season 2 may play a part in that, but for those of us that do appreciate it, we *really* appreciate it. I think a "general" anime fan may prefer season 1 to season 2, but Vinland-specific fans prefer season 2.

Is it Fullmetal Alchemist (2003) or Fullmetal Alchemist Brotherhood? Because the difference is rather big, the 2003 version happened before the manga was finished, so it's not such a truthful adaptation, especially beyond episode 25. FMA Brotherhood adapts the whole manga and, in my opinion, is better. Of course, the original adaptation is not bad, but later, when material to adapt from was missing, anime creators made a rather boring story when compared to what happened in the manga. Also, the original adaptation is missing great characters like Lin or Oliver. Sorry for any grammar mistakes, english is not my first language.

I think they're more than comfortable enough to experience some of the anime tropes. Hell FMA has more of them than Code Geass does. Battles will literally just come to a halt and turn into an episode of the Loony Toons. It happens right in the first episode too. The same cannot be said for Code Geass. It only has a handful of those goofy anime moments actually. They've also responded well to the handful of anime moments they've already experienced, like when Sasha was starving in basic training in AoT or pretty much any time Ryuk is on screen in Death Note. That's why I think Code Geass would have been better. Not to mention that they've also talked highly of Gundam before so they clearly like mecha anime.

I seen it and didn't vote for it for two reasons: I think it's overrated. Great writing =/= great show. Don't get me wrong, I think it's really good, but not this masterpiece fans are claiming it is. But more importantly, I've watched most of their reactions on their channel and they tend to favor the action shows more than the introspective, deep-thinking type of shows. So I voted for a shonen, FMA, instead. They complained a bit when AoT went from heavy action to the slower set up bits that weren't even that long. What do these people voting think that they're going to say when Vinland does a complete tonal shift in season 2? lol They will no doubt still enjoy the show but I don't think they're going to love it as much as Vinland fans seem to think. At least, not all of Badd Medicine.

Code Geass has too many anime tropes that they aren't familiar with. They're slowly easing their way into the world of anime and I think FMA is a better bridge for that purpose. And also Code Geass is pretty mediocre during much of the 1st season. It isn't until the 2nd season that the show becomes a must watch.

Have you seen FMAB? Have you seen AoT? Those provide the same feel of steady storyline with interwining pieces and character arcs and backstory. Have you seen death note? It mainly explores moral issues through a cat and mouse story. If you don't see the comparisons maybe try a re-watch of the 3. JJK will have to much information for them. It's only their 3rd anime. Demon slayer is a decent story, easier to follow but the worst of all the options. Top tier animation without a doubt.

I wouldn't recommend JJK on my worst enemy. It's a terrible anime with no real stakes or meaning. Like Fairy Tail and Black Clover, protagonists will always just rally at the last second and pull some new attack or power-up out of their butt despite showing no training or effort previously. It's all fluff and no substance.

Just want to echo the other comments about making sure you watch the correct FMA series! There are two Fullmetal Alchemist animes, one from 2003 and one from 2009. Both start out the same, but the manga that the shows were based on didn't wrap until 2010, so the first anime was only partly based on the manga, and spun off into its own original story once it ran out of source material halfway through. The 2009 anime (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood), though, is 100% faithful to the original story, and is rightfully considered one of the best anime of all time. You guys will love it, it's literally a perfect series.

All of those are great, but in my eyes, FMA is king. Can't think of a better anime IMO. You should definitely watch Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood though (the one from 2009), as it is faithful to the original story, unlike its predecessor from 2003. I'd also recommend the dub. It's one of the greatest and among the few that more people enjoy in English than not.

The one from 2003 had to change the story as it came out while the manga was still being made and imo its not as good still a good watch but I advise people look at the original story first in FMAB ALSO FMAB has a Allstar cast dub that should really be watched
