Another movie I didn't know that I get to catch up on with your reactions! It was amusing, with some laugh out loud moments, but def not something I'd rewatch. Stupid horny teens throwing a party is just a one time watch for me lol. The movie does stand out for its filmmaking though, and the OST. I love that they had Heads Will Roll and Battery in there 😄 I would say that my one issue is that it does feel like the movie glamourizes the behaviours shown, but these critics are taking it wayyyyy to far with the language they use lol 😂😭 Many times critics will just sh!t on movies that are fun and not serious.

Aria Isara

@shaneth138 You don't need to patronize her like that. She just stated her opinion of the movie and you're telling her "just stop" lol maybe it's you who should relax?

Aria Isara

I agree!! That and 21 & Over

steve ehrman

This certainly wasn't cinema.... but my gosh was it A HELL OF A GOOD TIME!!!🤣🍻🤣 Laughs all the way through. Brought me back to my teen yrs growing up in a small northwest Indiana town, throwing cornfield ragers at a buddy's farm every summer. I think back now and wonder WTF WERE WE THINKING??!!🤦🏻‍♀️ And how did I not end up in jail or hurt somewhere🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️smdh. Best thing my parents ever did was move our family across the country, to big city life where you could never get away with sh$t like that.🤣🤣 Such a funny movie, even still, so glad the guys had so many laughs and a good time with it 🤘🏻Great reaction!

Roxanne LIL CRIP Kemmerer

This was a great watch with you guys never seen it before

dredre8424

Yes they are in Wisconsin

Steven Warner

One of my favorite movies to watch again

Dan🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿

Oh no the windshield!🤣 I was like, yea this movie hasn't even started yet!🤣🤣🤣

Josh Gibson

I watched the news clip of that and that reporter pmo 😂

Katie

I don’t know how I’ve never seen this movie. This was so much fun. Another movie I checked out because of you guys.

Katie

I don't know if anyone else has said it but, the news interview with costa at the end is exactly what happened to corey worthington in 2008 in australia. He had a party where he invited most people through myspace/facebook and it went crazy. He ended up on the news just like that costa scene, it looks very similar.

Rajat Kumar

They might not have been as big but they do feel it sometimes at that age.

Crispin

Danny Mc fucking bride takes the cake for me in that film " It was a cum for help "

Crispin

I do love This is The End, but how is it like Game Night though?

shaneth138

Do you really think high school and college kids need a movie about a wild party to want to have a wild party? Just stop. Wild parties always existed. Young people have always wanted to have them. This movie isn't some danger to society. Relax. Lighten up a bit, I promise you life is much more enjoyable that way.

shaneth138

Omg yes for This is the End it's one of my favorites movies. Watched it 100 times and it's never not funny 😩

Ana

I hear what you're saying about it being a movie. I do think the thing the reviewer said about the actions not having consequences for the characters is actually relevant because in real life, multiple people would have died/been assaulted at that party, the teens could have gone to jail, etc. So marketing that film towards kids (some of whom, predictably, then tried to throw similar ones) with the message that your parents will be proud, you'll be cool afterwards, and no one will get hurt could easily have some serious real life consequences.

Maisie

I haven't watched this movie in a decade but man, I'm getting flashbacks to some of the parties some of my buddies and I used to throw in college when we lived in a house off campus. Got the cops called on us four straight weekends to start senior year, a drunk track and field kid got his tailbone broken when he tried to pick a fight and got launched off or our porch and apparently lost his scholarship as a result, random players from the football team started just wandering through the place (high level D1 school so that was pretty wild), etc. And editing in because why not, I went to Syracuse, which is consistently ranked as one of the top party schools in America. Our house was perfectly situated, too, being on the first block that was officially off campus on what was, at that point, the biggest party street at the college so when we threw parties we'd regularly have 200-300+ people spilling out into our yard. It was so much fun. Good times. I miss college. EDIT: Also, I continue to relate to Oak so much on so many things, it's wild. Basically the same age, I didn't drink in high school (fun fact: had my first beer in April of my freshman year of college when my buddies and I went to Montreal and found ourselves in a certain kind of establishment that was called Club Super Sex; one of my roommates sold weed so yes, I eventually partook since, I mean... free weed, but that remains the extent of my drug use outside of alcohol), and while I didn't play football, I played basketball and my dad wasn't my high school coach, but he was my AAU coach and coached the local men's college basketball team where I grew up, so everything in the discussion I was just like, "Yes, exactly!" because Oak was basically speaking my own thoughts. Also also: apologies about this turning into a novel!

Guys. If you LOVED this, you'll love This Is the End (2013). It's like Project X and Game Night combined. 😉

J Knight

Lets be honest, we ALL secretly wish we coulda been at that party haha.

JenVonLee

The craziest part of this movie is that it is loosely based on the real-life party of Corey Worthington back in 2008 so its based on real events LOL

Skylł2D

That movie came out during my party ear and it set the bar high haha! I remember kids doing something like this in a new development that wasn't occupied yet! They trashed the whole area... That movie lol! Brings back memories :) So many "Project X" parties were popping up lol I remember they were saying that they basically got hundreds of people to party every night for 21 nights in a studio where they built the neighbourhood and gave them little cameras and they shot all the party footage themselves.

Felix1626

I agree with all this. You’ve got an outstanding amount of common sense. 💯

Ron Banks

I remember I was in high school junior year when this movie came out everyone was tryna have Project X party’s 🤣

LSA

The movie is actually loosely based on a party in Australia, the kid put his address on myspace and 500 people came and caused lots of damage. This movie is just fun lol nothing more nothing less, I saw this in theaters and yeah it makes you wanna attend a crazy party after haha. And nothing too far-fetched happened, like this all could happen. The biggest party I ever attended was probably close to 100 and it was mostly in someone's garage and yard lol pretty crazy and we did hide from the cops in the dark 😂 lmao critics are always uptight snobs, like what did you think a movie about teens was gonna be???? Something deep and artsy lmao? Critics suck. I knew you guys would enjoy it though!

Amanda P

I never pay attention to critics' reviews/ratings. Very rarely have I agreed with them, the same as most people. It's almost like they sit and think of the complete opposite way that most people will feel about a movie, and use it as their review. 😆 It rarely fits with the majority of viewers. This movie is funny, wild, and just a great time. You can find meanings in anything, even this. We could deep dive and touch on "what people do to fit in, or be popular", or how doing all of this might have ended with the result of becoming popular to some degree but then he realizes all he really wanted was Kirby and so we get that end scene showing this, etc. Like, you can always find messages, meanings, and things to take away from anything. But at the end of the day it's a film that you can just watch without the need to take away something. Maybe shake your head at some of the behavior, laugh at things, whatever. So to see reviews like that from critics just shows how out of touch they are with what they watch and how they review. This really is just a funny ridiculous high school/college party movie. I would never do anything they did in this film, I barely drink but maybe once or twice a year. I never have been into any of that lifestyle. 🤷‍♀️ But when this came out it was such a fun movie and we replayed it alot and I really enjoyed it! Some of the soundtrack in this is so iconic as well. I'm so happy you guys reacted to this, I've been in the mood for a fun, funny movie reaction to watchalong and this was the perfect choice!

Sarah

I love how passionate Oak got at the end 😂😂😂

Steven Warner

I was in middle school when I first watched this and I thought all high school party’s were gonna be as crazy as this lmao. This movie is honestly so fun and entertaining, even after rewatching it a bunch it’s always a fun watch. It’s just hilarious watching the party get crazier and crazier and so much shit happening. It’s not supposed to be a deep movie and like you said they don’t focus on character drama. It’s just supposed to be from the perspective of teen boys throwing a crazy party and the insanities that happen in the party.

Kiki Varas

This movie is actually internationally popular , I’m also not from the US and everyone around me basically knows and loves it 🤷🏾‍♀️

Melinda

Are you saying this is a bad movie? I'm from outside the US and I love this film and I think the acting is great cos most of these people act like 17-20 year olds. And the one joke thing I think is because most guys in their teens are stereotyped with just wanting to get laid which if you had friends like that or were urself like that then you would find it funny. The filming is also pretty unique where sometimes this camera work doesn't usually do well but for a film like this the camera work is great. Plus its a film about teens partying whats not to like about it

Bloop

I was senior in high school when this came out wow I feel old lol. So many parties happened over the next year after this came out. Anyone remember the ‘Project X’ party they had in Texas by the football players son and the news came and it got shut down and It was hundreds/thousand of people? Crazzzzy

Layla

This movie came out the year after I graduated high school and when I went to see it in theaters, Everyone was joking about throwing their own Project X Party. So glad you guy enjoyed the movie so much! One of my all time favorites!

Andrew Kniceley

Question: Did anyone outside of North America like this? So try hard with forced writing and one joke. Found footage doesn't work when acting isn't convincing. It's cheaping out and doesn't cover up bad filming. I'm assuming this is cultural differences.

Harlee

Im going to a Led Zeppelin cover band concert tonight and having some drinks and can’t wait to watch this again with y’all tonight. When I saw it on the poll I had to vote for it. I graduated High School in 2020 and this movie is still watched and loved by high school and college students. It’s just such a fun ride!

Ro6ueFour

This movie came out when I was in High school it was a whole moment. I can’t wait to watch this when I get home!

Emily G

🔥🔥🔥

Badd Medicine

We gotta pat ourselves on the back. We know how to pick 'em. This was the movie in high school...still is. Moral of the story: sometimes you gotta say F it and go for it. Consequences be damned.

Ron Banks

HELL NAWW!!

Redbone

This movie was a cultural reset and a cultural phenomenon for millennials lol. I was a senior in high school when this came out and for about a year after there was atleast 3 “Project X” themed parties on any given weekend

Ari

I hope you know that different regions in the world have different movies and TV shows available, depending on where you live. Also if you haven't noticed their is an uncut version that let's you watch the whole movie with them without having to sink up the video or have a certain subscription.

Isaiah jaramillo

When DD isn’t there to supervise 😂

Steven Warner

First Ralph Breaks the Internet on Amazon Prime when could watched it on Disney + now Project X rented on Amazon Prime when you could have watched it on Netflix

Anthony Velasquez
