So I love this movie and the name always makes me think of Legends of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga'Hoole. Nothing in common just the name always tickles my brain and makes me think of that movie. It's visually stunning as well in my opinion.

This movie is one of my favs, it’s so underrated, I’m so shocked at how not many people have seen it !!! Crazy!! I loved jude laws voice in this too!

2024-08-31 05:24:16 +0000 UTCHearing Mason Quinn talk about Final Fantasy animation at the begining made me think of a real "out there" suggestion that I'll bet you guys haven't seen. The Final Fantasy movies are really good in terms of their animation quality. I know you guys would go nuts watching FF15 Kingsglaive. The animation and action is insane and the story is pretty great. It's very self contained and doesn't rely on playing the original game to know what's going on. I can't recommend that one enough. I think it'd be a great one for ya'll to watch. And as a bonus, Sean Bean voices one of the characters.

2024-08-29 14:05:54 +0000 UTCFor me this is Dreamworks most underrated film and it doesn't get nearly enough attention! Like where are any of these characters in their new opening intro?? They put Boss Baby on their but not any of these characters! The animation is beautiful, I love the moment when the huge dinosaur appears and you can slightly hear the Jurassic Park theme. Any time Sandman is there it's just amazing. I absolutely love the design of all of them too, they put new twists on these characters like we've really never seen before or rarely ever see in films, I mean how many movies do we actually have with the Easter bunny? But my favorite design is the tooth fairy. I love they made her a hummingbird, such a great idea, the colors of her feathers are so vibrant and beautiful. Pitch is also a very underrated villain, he's actually really great with being physiological and I thought Jude Law was great, it sounded like him but not really either. I really like that it's the kids that were ones who saved the day and destroyed Pitch. Not saying the Guardians didn't do anything but it wasn't working until Jamie spoke up and I firmly think it was because of Jamie that brought back Sandman.

Every time you try to guess the voice for Pitch I was like 'It's Jude Law!' and when Oak said the Voldemort vs Harry it was so close, more like Jude Law -Dumbledore!. One of the most cool things I love about this movie is the little scenes with the elves, I needed to watch it a couple of times to catch all the little details and I love that!

I always, always cry at the end no matter how many times I've seen it -- and, though some say it's a Christmas movie, I watch it whenever I need a pick-me-up. :) However, I do like watching it back-to-back with The Holiday, which also has Jude Law in it, and somehow the two make for a cosy combo. I'm so glad you all enjoyed this one and thank you again for giving it a try and sharing all your thoughts and lessons with us. :)

2024-08-28 22:02:47 +0000 UTCFor me it is still something special, I always have to think about the year after it was published; At a convention a little boy (we knew very well) came dressed as Jack Frost and had a "free hugs" sign on his stick. Everyone he mat was enchanted by him and went for the free hug. One of the best memories I have with a film. And it's one of my "ever year rewatching" films. like coco, Klaus (you NEED to react on it!) or Mary Poppins 2 etc.

2024-08-28 21:52:53 +0000 UTCSeeing you guys watch this and love it makes me want you guys to watch Arthur Christmas so bad! It's not just my favorite Christmas movie, it's my favorite movie period. It's what I watch when I'm having a bad day and need to reset myself. It epitomizes Oak's outlook on this movie: set up for adult and child demographics, easy and enjoyable surface level story, great characters, and a TON of layers. The first time I watched it I didn't really pay attention too much because it's kinda goofy kids movie. Then I actually sat down and paid attention the second time. HOLY COW, does it ever have a metric ton of life lessons seamlessly integrated into it! Family dynamics, black sheep, aging, agoraphobia, believing you're good enough even when other people don't, getting what you think you want isn't always what you need, new doesn't equal better... the list really does go on for it. Plus if you pay attention to all the background written words/posters you'll die laughing. I think all of you would really get a kick out of it and probably laugh the entire time! And, honestly, I think Oak would love it. My two cents. 🩷💛🩵

Absolutely loved seeing Oak smile so much throughout the movie; Rise of the Guardians is truly an underrated gem, glad to say it’s become a classic Easter movie in my household.
