During that run, the show tackled racism with an episode in 1999 titled "Black Like Monica," in which a white angel turns black for a little bit to learn about racism. This involved Monica, played by Roma Downey, to be in blackface. This special episode had a special guest star: Rosa Parks.

In his older music (with Wayne and other features) they'd rap about young actresses and wanting to fuck them when they turn 18. It's weird af. I started to make a philosophical point about the Pulitzer board potentially being a largely white group and how big of a compliment that actually is to hip hop/a Black artist (i.e. how meaningful is white validation after all), but I trailed off because I don't know the makeup of the Pulitzer board, and whatever, prestige is prestige I guess. I know Clint detected the same thing, and that it came out wrong, so to clarify, I don't believe that Kendrick won the award because he's Black. I believe he won it because he's brilliant.
