193. Turtle Sex Memories

New year, same us. We start 2025 off with a major correction before talking about Anora and Nosferatu. Then, we take a trip down memory lane, to an experience Rich can't quite recall, but Tracie could never forget.

Comments

I was listening to this on a flight and nearly cackled out lout at how long you let that turtle sex tape play. Hysterical!

Awry_Diamond

Omg my dog went crazy at the turtle sound no idea why 🫡

Alexandria

Katharine Vernon

cassie moore

Im doing a coloring sheet of nyc, and just finished coloring the Statue of Liberty when yall talked about 9/11 pt2. Magic moment.

Katelyn Howell

Wait. Melissa ethridge with the beauty filter on is jojo Siwa. I can’t.

Sara Berger

After laughing out loud at the audio of the turtle fucking, I IMMEDIATELY recorded it as a voice note and sent it to my husband with zero explanation.

My favorite fun fact about the Blake/Baldoni of it all is that he claims he’s been in communication with her dead father

Angie

Horse's ass is a good one. I enjoy creative insuts. Joe Biden gets credit for a lot of creative old-timey sounding insults.

KDC

Rich is quite the contrarian this episode 😂

Ash

Even your average girl would be disillusioned by all the gifts and attention. A 4 ct ring? It's basically love bombing.

Ash

I love your reminiscing about the phrase "horse's ass". My grandma used this phrase all the time, usually about frenemies in her apartment complex. I miss hearing her shady ass reading other old ladies to filth!

Hanna

Jocelyn Wildenstein died on New Year's Eve, you guys!

KDC

I just find it so charming that any corrections you have to make on this podcast can usually be attributed to being too high.

I thought Anora did an amazing job at showing how sex workers are treated. He buys her and uses her like anything else that he enjoys. And I thought Madison did a brilliant job at giving the character emotional depth. I don’t think you have to explicitly show a lot to give a character depth; the way that she remains disconnected in the beginning but slowly warms up to him shows her vulnerability. The ending shows how hurt she was after letting herself get tangled up in that mess.

9/11 part 2 : It's 9/11 and It's Completely Different but Also Still 9/11
