I initially read the books in chronological order and enjoyed them that way. I can't say whether it is the best, but you can definitely see the progression of the history of Narnia that way. It doesn't hurt to read them by release order, because by seeing the movies you're already familiar with those stories. However, there are other stories in-between so jumping around through different periods of time may prove a bit annoying.

Cilla W

You know, it's been so long since I had the stories read to me (my 5th grade teacher had read them to us) that I totally forgot there's 2 orders. Chronological and order of release. After watching these reactions i've been wanting to read the books myself, is chronological order the best way to read it?

Kunzite Blossom

Great reactions!! There are 7 books. While I enjoyed these movies and these actors, I think it would be best if they start over. It's been too many years and the actors have grown. I really wish they had continued on with the franchise because the story of Narnia is so rich. The ending is... not what you would expect, especially for Children's novel. If you ever fancy reading the books yourself just know they have copies of the entire collection in chronological order for your convenience. I should know. I have a copy. However the movies were following release date order of the stories. Which is fine by me. Start off with the big battle and then expand from there into other stories. It's a shame we're waiting this long really. I would have loved to see theatrical releases of more adventures with Eustace, the origin of Narnia, and how the White Witch came into power...to name a few stories that were left unexplored. FYI... the Narnia books are nowhere near as long as the HP books.

So fun to see you guys react too this series, I love both the book series and the movies. Just a little fact the books that the films is based on are all set in the world war 2 era.

Sofie Hansen

I wished they had made the rest into movies honestly. We would have seen them as adults, see the professor as a kid and the creation of narnia, Jill pole enter the group in silver chair, and the end of narnia and everyone but one get to go permanently into narnia (can't say how but hopefully the guys read the book to find out lol).

Andrew Gamez

Glad you guys loved the series. I'm ready for the silver chair to come one day. Hope you guys get to read the books as I am once again but chronological not published order. The books will give you hope and the sad twist at the end of it all with one of the siblings. What you didn't know was the star becomes caspians wife and she become queen of narnia. In the silver chair it revolves around their son and caspians last days

Andrew Gamez

Looking into it I see that the reason movie 4, the silver chair, was suspended was because they changed plans to work on filming for the first book, the magicians nephew. Things are getting exciting!

romaiiiii

Oh!! And then our guy Simon Pegg voiced Reep in this one πŸ—‘πŸ

FANTASTIC reactions guys 🀘 I still love the book more, but this film did a fantastic job. As I've gotten older, I have a greater appreciation for it - for reasonssimilar to the lessons y'all brought up. Being the younger sister and watching her be prom queen and 'perfect' definitely made me relate to Lucy when I was growing up. Agreed that it's kind of hard to watch, but knowing your worth & owning your unique-ness is such a powerful lesson. Now that I've "grown into" who I am, I'm so proud and wouldn't change a thing. I wish it could be an easy journey for everyone, but it's definitely the most rewarding. Love your review and appreciate the YouTube links as well! Keep rocking & being amazing guys πŸŽ‰πŸ”₯πŸ‘

Its an interesting thing Narnian time. In the first movie, Lucy goes for hours before coming back to 0 seconds time passing on earth. She goes back later with Edmund and return with no time passed. She then goes with everyone and ruled Narnia for 15 years before returning to England where again....no time has passed on Earth. A year later, they return to Narnia after Prince Caspian blows the horn summoning them back. They return, but 1,200 years have passed in Narnia. They stay a much shorter time this time and return back to Earth with no time passed. Then a year later, Lucy and Edmund go back but only 3 years have passed in Narnia. Yet, it is confirmed a year in Narnia IS 365 days like it is on Earth yet, time somehow works so different. I assume, both have their ways time works, but they never will correlate with one another. Any humans from Earth are brought to Narnia when they are needed. It doesn't actually matter WHEN the time is. The Pevensies were brought to Caspians aid 1,200 years because that's when they were needed again. Even with the war that destroyed Cair Paravel, they weren't NEEDED. They got brought back 3 years later because again, its when they were needed next by Caspian (even if he didn't summon them). I'm sure if in Dawn Trader, if Edmund and Lucy hadn't been needed, it could have been many years Narnian time before they got called back. On a side note, one of the messages I loved about this movie was to just be you. We see Lucy feel jealous and upset about not being as "pretty" as Susan. The thing is, in the first movie Susan is supposed to be 12 (even though the actress was 17 at the time) and Lucy is 8. So during this film Lucy would only be about 10 or 11 (depending when her birthday is) so she's only just starting to going through puberty and starting to show an interest in guys while Susan is now around 14 or 15 and is at that "dating" age. Lucy realizes she wishes to be older, which may partially be due to the fact she was around 23 when she left Narnia as queen. It's only normal she would think like an adult at times. Now being so much younger and having her hormones start changing, she's realizing how lucky her sister is for being older. Then when Gael says she wants to be like Lucy when shes older, Lucy already learned her lesson about wanting to be like someone else. So she's able to pass the message on and teach Gael before she thinks herself not good enough like Lucy thought she wasn't enough.

Honestly I like this one a lot too so I’m glad to hear I’m not alone

At the end there, Aslan said "in your world, you know me by a different name". I always saw him as a representation of Jesus. Although I am not particularly religious, I definitely saw the parallels, such as Aslan sacrificing himself for someone else on the stone table (while being tied down) and the way they were referring to Aslan's land (perhaps being Heaven). A few fun facts I have learned over the years about this series is that C.S. Lewis used many parts of other cultures and put them into his books, which we see here in the movies. In Turkish, Aslan means "lion". We also have "Turkish delight" in the movie. The tents at Aslan's soldiers' camp have a very similar look to many middle eastern (Ottoman Empire, specifically) war tents. Considering the story of Jesus Christ, and so much of Lewis' material was inspired by Middle Eastern culture/history, that also adds to the idea that Aslan is supposed to represent Jesus Christ.

Im so happy you guys loved it so much! And I love Oak's growth from Harry Potter to now, not exactly wanting to watch these fantasy kid movies but then absolutely loving them the most. This movie actually had the lowest budget out of the 3. So Eustace does come back in the next book (silver chair) along with his friend Jill that they briefly mentioned at the end of the movie. I would've loved to see that as a movie but unfortunately the 3rd movie didn't do as well as they hoped and I believe that's when they axed it. I'm still hoping for a Netflix\etc show adaption. The pevensie kids are definitely some of my favorite fictional siblings 😊 I would love to know if you guys have a favorite of the siblings haha. The guy who plays Eustace is actually British if you didn't know. And fun fact from the books, Caspian married the star girl. Unfortunately I won't be watching the next series (divergent) with you guys I just never liked it so I can't wait to see what comes after it! Finding your channel has made me so happy and I've loved your journey so far, some of my absolute favorite reactors! Much love to you guys

Ah so great to hear your opinions on this movie. I also really like the third movie because it felt fresh, bittersweet and with great lessons all at the same time. So I am very happy that you are on the same side. Thank you for this amazing journey. I watched the first two with my family but the third one first time watching. Was great watching it together :)

Celine

I find myself lining up more and more with Oak as I watch more of ya'lls content. I'm with him 100% here. To me, this is the best of the 3 movies, and it's specifically because of the ending. I loved seeing Eustace grow as much as I loved seeing Edmund grow in the first one, but I also loved how great the child actors were. At the end, you can perfectly see the emotion of being sad to leave but also understanding the necessity of it on their faces. As a very devout Christian, I also loved the heavier allusion to the deliberate parallels between Aslan and Jesus in this movie that were a bit more subtle in the previous ones. Altogether, I just felt like the ending had so much more weight and emotion to it than the others, and I'm a sap for that kind of thing.
