Y'all..... we aren't sure what to think here anymore with this show. It just feels like its a snails pace here. Maybe we are over critical, but wowzers.
Really curious to see what you all think.
🤣🤣🤙🤙

I think this is my favorite episode so far! Can't wait for the next! Also, the Warg looked part Hyena, which made it look goofy but other than that, it was good?? I liked it except for that face that looked like Ed the Hyena from the Lion King animated movie

Agreed. A foundation is set. We are about to go into the 2nd half. I anticipate that it's going to be the same pace as the previous eps. So hopefully in the finally 4. The pace starts to pick up

It's as I've said before ... there is a lot to cover here, and I know that those who know the original lore don't agree with how they are going about it, but I've done my own research, and the story surrounding Galadriel is a difficult one to pinpoint ... According to Tolkien's son, Tolkien brought her into the Lore quite late and never fully finished fleshing her or her journey out. When it comes to the second age, it was under constant retcon, too ... I think that is probably why they went with this age and this character ... less was established/set in stone ... And with multiple seasons, it's normal for so much lore to be introduced ... I think they are focused more on the new fan than the knowledgeable fan here ... that said, I agree that the pace needs to move into second gear and eventually into third. There are a lot of good foundations being built, but progress needs to be made faster. I plan on watching it all the way ... I love the characters, some more than others, and want to see how they get Galadriel from her current wild state to the Lady of Light we meet in The Fellowship later. I was actually starting to see a little change in her character in Numenor ... Maybe this is where she begins to grow. Also, you have to remember she is relatively young as a character; as one character described her, she runs both wild and blind like a teenager ... She still has a lot of years to grow before she becomes the wise Lady Galadriel.

I think no matter if you like how the producers created the story and everything, regarding the pace you can see it in two different ways in my opinion: This series cost sooo much money and I assume that this series was planned to have more seasons than just one (like multiple seasons, for now only season 2 is confirmed but I can imagine that there will be much more). If only one season will happen I totally agree that this is a really slow pace, but if not I think later I will appreciate the pace we now have in the beginning. The world is so big and so it needs a lot of good worldbuilding to get totally absorbed into it. I remember for example with GOT (not trying to compare how the pace is between those two) I much more enjoyed the next seasons when I finally got a hang of how the world and how everything is connected. In my opinion in GOT some things were also very slow in the beginning and I didn't understand why, only later when it all got connected. I hope that maybe in the future these slow episodes will help us to appreciate different storylines when it gets really deep and the action is coming in.

This show is like really bad and really expensive teenage fan-fiction that occasionally drops some Tolkien Easter eggs with like a little wink and nod.... but most of those nods are changed from their original story so I don't get the point...... *sighs in tolkien fan* .....

Yea it's a whole copyright mess 😭 That's another reason why Peter Jackson's The Hobbit couldn't delve into why Gandalf left and that whole storyline because they didn't have the rights to: The Silmarillion & Unfinished Tales

This is the last episode I'll see. I can't stand anymore. I fell asleep twice in this episode. It's so slow and boring, Galadriel is so annoying. The harfoots zzzzz

I have no issue with the pacing personally, and am really enjoying this so far. We all watched the same movies in this world right? They're the very meaning of slow burn.🤣🤣 Kidding aside, maybe it's because there isn't enough "action" or intrigue for y'all to ride through the slow burn enjoyably, or its just not your jam overall. Not sure if I'd call it over critical, it happens.... we all can't love everything right?! So far this show brings me right back into the world, anticipating what's to come. It's damn beautiful, and I have a bit of a girl crush on the Galadriel actress so maybe I'm overly mesmerized because of it 🤣🤣😉 That whole Durin and Elrond friendship had me all smiley last episode, it was so kool to see Númenor and meet a young Elendil and Isildur, oh and loved the look of the orcs, they're rad and creepy looking for sure. I'm digging this show so far and have no issue with the pacing, but that doesn't mean y'all or anyone else has to feel the same. It is what it is, nothing wrong with that 👍🏻😊

Yes that was good, though even that i felt they made durin a little too childish and his wife, but still a really good sequence

I haven't seen episode 3 yet, but your words don't encourage me. I also felt like the pacing was sloooow! Even the parts I liked very much, like meeting Durin and his lovely wife, felt... off. I'm hopeful that things will pick up soon.

I haven't watched it yet. I'm working on getting my blog up and running, and also doing reviews for there, but I've only watched the first two episodes so far. I'm disappointed so far but not surprised. If you guys are interested okay with i could share my review when it's up, but totally understand if you dont want that. Are you the type of people who don't want to know what "the experts" have to say about a show or would you rather have some explanations, because I could recommend a channel for this and a Chanel for house or the dragon that I've found really good at breaking things down episode by episode (haven't watched HOTD but I watched their stuff for GOT and it was really good), but the two big things I learned was that they do not have the rights to adapt what Tolkien wrote about this time period and the lead up. They are specifically prohibited from using adapting the Simarillian, but this channel went through explaining what the prologue from Ep 1 was trying to do and my opinion of the show overall was improved though still disappointed. I also think they're really shooting themselves in the moral lecturing of the fans
